I am open to all options. Just wanted a weekend away without kids. Any further recommendation around Westport?

I have checked out 816 hotel (Old Westport). They have a shuttle to the game. Any idea if that is a decent place?
Looks like Saturday isn't available now. Gotta love late planning. oh well still looking for more options. Last edited by Doob02; 08-03-2016 at 09:47 PM.. Reason: change of detail |

I stayed at the 816 hotel a couple years ago. From what I recall, everything was great there.

The 816 is a perfect hotel if you're partying in Westport. I would also recommend Westport over power and light but a lot of out of towners prefer power and light. It's a nice little area but drinks are overpriced and the bars are filled with popped collar douchebags from what I can recall the last time I was there a few years ago. Check out char bar in Westport for brunch. Cool patio with bocce ball, bags and ping pong. Brunch is pretty amazing there. I'd recommend the burnt ends Benedict.

816 Hotel is a cool place to stay. They have KC themed rooms. Westport Flea Market is next door and Baked across the street has good breakfast. The bars in Westport are 10x better than PnL and the restaurants are great too. Char Bar, Beer Kitchen, McCoys, Port Fonda have some damn good food.

The American Restaurant in Crown Center, before it closes at the end of this year.

I stayed at the 816 last fall for the World Series and thought it was a tad grimy, but fine if you're just crashing and showering there. The location is ideal. If you're planning to hit Q39, depending on what time you want to go, I'd go ahead and put in a reservation, as ridiculous as that sounds. It was a 45 min wait without one on a Saturday afternoon when I was there a couple weeks ago.
