Terez Paylor's Chiefs draft review (feat. Matt Miller)
https://t.co/XbSQrsnpM0 (Page 2)
Thought this was interesting, because like I had posted in the Draft section, Miller had just about all of our picks ranked higher than where we got them. This is where he had our picks ranked by position (and grades) pre-draft: Chris Jones- 5th (round 2) KeiVarae Russell- 7th (round 2) Parker Ehinger- 6th (round 3) Eric Murray- 14th (round 3) Demarcus Robinson- 13th (round 3) D.J. White- 16th (round 4) Kevin Hogan- 10th (round 5) He didn't have Hill or Nicholas ranked, but that's way too close to where Dorsey probably had these guys to be coincedental. They obviously have very similar taste and I will be paying much more attention to his evalutations/rankings next year. |

Seems like the NFL guys like Ehinger alot more than the draft guys did.

I would have liked to have had a decent vet corner signed this offseason just in case, but this regime's track record with cheaper vet corners ain't very good.
Hopefully the rookies come on strong. |

Houston coming back and being healthy is gonna be the difference in this team being good and really good, I think.
If you can get this DL up and running with Houston healthy, I think the defense could be improved from last year even with the losses at corner. Houston coming back, another year of Berry in his newer role, and the development of Ford are gonna be big if they are to get HFA. |

I think Dorsey did a great job identifying the depth of CBs, OL and DL in this draft and used his picks properly to extract max talent from each pick. In other drafts, these guys go at least a round earlier. |

The more I've read into Russell, the more I like. Seems like a really competitive and good kid. He did an interview on 610 with cDot and Parkins that was pretty cool. Talked about how he knows he's gotta play well to parlay that big 60 70 million dollar 2nd contract and how he wants to help his mom. Seems pretty intelligent. |

I don't see any of Morse in Ehinger aside from technique. Body build and strength is way different between the two.
Ehinger reminds me of Mitchell Schwartz. Nearly identical body type in height, weight, arm/hand measurements and strength. Both have elite technique , football iq and play nasty in the run game. Even though he needs time in the weight room, he can make up for it in pass pro bc of his technique. It sounds cliche but my god did our G's suck last year in the first 2 months at reading a twist/stunt/blitz and not using proper technique to counter DL.
