Don't hate me...

... drafted last night in our keeper league (year 18 by the way) and in Round 7, as my 4th WR/TE ... I picked up Travis Kelce.

He will lead you to glory in week 2... I expect a huge explosion with multiple TDs.

Last year his lines against Denver were 3/36 and 4/81.. no TDs. Just wondered.

I definitely don't sit Broncos or Raiders if they play the Chiefs, if that is the best matchup.

Seems like in the 7th is good value... maybe because you don't have a dedicated TE position? Just a TE/WR position?

Yeah, and honestly ... to the casual observer, Kelce's potential doesn't jump off the charts any more than 10 other guys. But, he's a solid flex option in a PPR league with non-TE requirements.

Then the casual observer is a dumb ass. Kelce is easily the 4th best TE, potentially the 3rd, and arguably the 2nd. If he's the 4th, the drop off after him is significant. After the top 4 no TE is worth drafting until at least the 12th-13th round.

Kelce is limited by Andy Reid. Andy doesn't call his number enough. There seemed to be a bunch of games last year where Kelce would have 2-3 receptions on the first two drives and then not see another ball all game. Plus, they didn't seem to use him as much as they should have in the red zone. Alex doesn't like those jump balls Kelce and other TE's could grab.

I'm referring to the casual observer in a league that doesn't start a TE as a requirement... there's not a lot of greatness out there at TE. You guys are pretty close to the Kelce deal, obviously.

But, he's had 1 year and it's not like he set the world on fire statistically... huge upside, but there's a void at the top of the TE rankings, so him being #3-4... it's not like we're talking Gronk production. He has started 11 of 17 games, fewer than 900 yds and only 5 TDs. Only 4 games with more than 5 receptions, only one 100 yd performance and no multiple TD games.

Maybe he can get there, depends on the offense.

Round 7 is pretty damn late for TK to fall. Nice pickup.

We also do not have a dedicated TE position, only a WR/TE flex. I got him in the 10th.

Yeah, in that scenario, I imagine not many TEs are even drafted. Four, five?

Ah, didn't notice it wasn't a dedicated TE position. So used to having that I really didn't even look. He's ranked 3 or 4 in the NFL last I looked.
