I recently picked up the Amazon FireTV box and it's pretty kick ass
It is way better than the Apple TV Can install apps and stuff like that. Pretty impressed so far. Watching prime video, Netflix, HBO go, and other possible things with apps. Along with games its kick ass. Have not purchased a Roku yet What you think? |

I have Netflix and WWE Network on my PS4. Outside of that, I feel no need to have anything else. Then there's the cable bill for Sunday football and evening baseball.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

Nice. I don't have a cable box in every room so those devices make good substitutes for stuff like watchespn etc

If you have an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or rent movies from iTunes, then Apple TV. If not, it doesn't matter. We have Apple TV in living room and Roku in the bedroom

I do a combination of Roku and Chromecast. The Roku is the most universal since it's not linked to a content provider, and it's easy to understand for my guests. The Chromecast fills in for gaps here and there, though that's pretty rare.

I have a chrome cast but only because I won it at an office party. I've used it like twice.
I do have a smart TV though, which runs Netflix and Amazon's prime TV app, so... don't need anything else. |

Apple TV vs Amazon FireTV vs Roku
I travel for work and take my Chromecast with me. Good stuff.

I had a Roku stick for about a week. The remote quit working. Kept having to pull the batteries and restart the stick. I returned it.
I just use my phone with an MHL adapter. |

FireTV, and it's not even close. It's capable of infinitely more. Install XBMC on that sucker, and you'll laugh heartily at a Roku or AppleTV setup...

I have the Firestick and love it. Not as capable as the FireTV, but I love it. And yes, it does travel with me, and I really didn't think I'd do that more than once or twice. But it's an every time deal now.

I have Chromsecast in pretty much every room. Plex for my personal content, HD Cinema/Localcast to play any new shows/movies that I don't personally have. I also have Netflix which is nice for the kid's shows, etc. I rarely encounter anything that I can't access and it's simple. Pull out my phone and choose what I want. If the kids come and bother me, turn on a show in their room from my seat in the living room. Tough to beat.
