The only thing you can really do is get up and walk around a little. Go warm up during halftime. Seriously, it's the only thing that really works.

Just wear regular tennis shoes, and 1 regular pair of socks with those toe warmer inserts and you'll be good to go. It's when you wear like 3 pairs of wool socks, you can't wiggle your toes, and the heat from those toe warmers can't get through all the layers.

Bring in an old blanket you (or more importantly the Mrs) don't care about and keep it under your feet to keep them insulated from the concrete.
You used to be able to bring in carpet/cardboard for this purpose, but they won't let you anymore since folks often left it there and it made for a bigger mess to clean up post-game. |

Getting up and walking around won't be a very good option for me since I am in the middle of a row.

I normally wear my winter boots and one pair of thermal socks. I never do tennis shoes because they let too much cold air in through the breathable top. Which in turn lets all the heat escape too.

When it's really cold I wear rubber gloves under my regular gloves and my hands sweat they are so warm.
Maybe they make something like that for feet. |

foil lines socks would be perfect I bet. but I have never seen anything like that. Like those foil lined blankets that reflect heat back on to you.

Stand on a Sunday newspaper. They used to have stacks of them out at the stadium.

Take one large box of matches, add a quart of lighter fluid in a thermos so you can bring in the stadium and a bundle of small twigs to attach and VOILA, problem solved!!!

Thin polypropylene socks and a thick winter moisture wicking sock. I used to use wool but there are so many man made material that I like better now thats wash and dry. Your leather hunting boots. Now the key is get a pair of five buckle rubber boots that will fit over boots. You need the good ones like Red ball or LaCrosse real rubber. This isnt just for wet or snow this will hold in the heat.
When I was instrument operator I learned this from the older guys. I was hard headed thinking they looked stupid. Whats stupid is frostbite. This works in standing in zero and below weather for hours attending a survey instrument stand in deep snow. Now finding good real rubber 5 buckles is not easy. A contractor supply or Farm and Home or online. But remember you need know your size that fit over boots with minimal struggle or blowing out the heel. Also Red Ball makes some insulated rubber boots that the guys loved but I never tried those. http://www.amazon.com/LaCrosse-5-Buc.../dp/B002OSXDC8 |

The Red Ball name was bought out by LaCrosse so that line is no more. Also the insulated rubber boots were made by Servus.
These are pricey but will last years and years unless you climb a lot of barb wire fences. http://workingperson.com/servus-boot...ots-78590.html Last edited by srvy; 11-30-2014 at 10:20 AM.. |
