An early who should I keep for next year thread.

Back to back Champs! Now that that's out of the way....give me your thoughts on who I should keep as of right now. I only get to keep one player and I lose a draft pick (the round they were drafted) in for keeping them.

This is my team. Obviously some of these players aren't worth keeping...but I'm listing them anyways. The bolded players are the ones that are in my list of possible keepers.

Tony Romo - 6th round
RG3 - 7th round
E.J. Manuel - 16th round

Jamaal Charles - 1st round
Eddie Lacy - 3rd round
Le'veon Bell - 8th round

Chris Ivory - 5th round
Knile Davis - 16th round

Victor Cruz - 2nd round
Pierre Garcon - 5th round
Da'Rick Rogers - 16th round
Cordarelle Patterson - 16th round

Julius Thomas - 15th round

Man, that's a tough call. I'd probably go with Lacy in the 3rd.

If the situation changes next preseason, and it definitely looks like Bell is the bellcow in Pittsburgh, I'd probably take him.

I'd probably keep Bell based on the return on value.

Bell is absolutely going to be the Steelers back for a long, long time.

How about me?

I can only keep 1 player from rounds 3-6, and 1 player from rounds 7 on (free agent pickups can be had for a 15th rounder).

It is not settled that we can keep our keepers from last year, so I'm assuming we can't.

3. RB Ryan Mathews, San Diego
4. WR Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh
(5. WR Dez Bryant, Dallas -- keeper from last year)

(8. QB Andrew Luck, Colts -- keeper from last year)
9. RB Giovani Bernard, Bengals
14. WR Alshon Jeffery, Bears
15. WR Julio Jones, Falcons (picked him up the last week just so I could have this option)
15. WR Keenan Allen, Chargers

I had a shit draft this year, Christ. How did I win the league?

What position and how many do you start?

Right now I'd go with Bryant and Jones depending on how well his foot heals....If not Jones...then Allen.

Between Mathews, Brown and Bryant.....I'm leaning towards Bryant. Keep an eye on his contract situation though. Brown is pretty close behind Bryant in value.

With the last group.....Bernard is interesting depending on what happens with BJGE. Luck I'm not so sure about. Jones and Allen are great value.....but both come with issues. Jones could never be the same with that foot and Allen could easily have a sophmore slump.

That's why I actually like Jeffery, unless of course Bernard becomes the bellcow.

Honestly, with that 2nd group, I don't think you could go wrong with any of those guys.

I would go Bell. As said before, best value for what you are giving up.

Although Thomas would be very tempting, he will likely be the 2nd TE off the board.

While Thomas helped me a lot this year (outside of the games that he was hurt).....I don't know if I see him as a top 3 TE. He has to fight for targets from Manning. He's awesome in the red zone but he isn't going to get those Jimmy Graham games (10 catches, 100+ yards and a TD or two).
