Look at Denver's box score from the game we played against them, it is exactly what you would want to see. The people who bitch about the lack of sacks are the same people who only want to see home runs in a baseball game. Now yesterdays game is a problem. The lack of a pass rush and a team who didn't need to respect our OLBs after Hali and Houston went out ran us over. |

Other teams have watched film and adjusted. The Chiefs have not.

Put the best pass rusher you got left on the field and let him so what he does. Besides d backfield you only got 2 guys left who have pass rushing skill. Must use them and/or dial up exotic blitzes to throw manning off...but hes pretty smart so careful. But any pressure that can be gotten up front needs to be employed. The teams best remaining rusher didnt play. Best rusher BY FAR is Catapano 2nd best is Zombo. Lets hope Houston can go

I would back off a bit on the press man-to-man coverage and I would do a mixture of both dropping our db's back and get them to play a little more zone coverage that way we don't get burned but also blitz Peyton as well with our DB's. There should be a combination of both zone play and blitzing. Is it possible to use 7-8 DB's in defensive sets? And also go with a 3 man rush? I think we should blitz Berry more, and heck even Flowers or Abdullah. I would be playing DB's for most of the game. I don't think you're gonna pressure Manning with a straight up passrush anyway so why even bother going that route? By the time the passrusher has to get by the OT, that usually takes 3-4 seconds and then next thing you know the ball is out. If he gets rid of the ball in 2.5-3 seconds, you as a defense have to counteract that by making sure you get there in like 2 seconds. Blitzing is a good strategy imo but the blitzes have to effectively timed. Speed is the key because he is quick at getting rid of the ball so you have to show that you're faster getting there and if he beats you, at least you got guys back there playing zone. I know blitzing sounds suicidal against Manning but at the same time you can't play conservative against him either and show you're afraid. Thats was the problem last time we played him. I don't like conservative approach if it means giving him a clean pocket because he is still going to pick you apart regardless. You want to beat QB's in this league, you have to go with the basics (pressure, pressure, pressure) still got to show that you can get in their faces and get them to force their throws so they can make mistakes. Im fine with giving up 27 points against Manning but not at the expense of "zero" pressure and mistakes. |

Douche nozzle Manning is going to treat us like red-headed stepchildren.

It makes ZERO sense to have the guy Chuck Smith calls "the most polished pass rusher in the 2013 draft" sitting on the bench with your two top dog rushers down when you have gotten 2 sacks and 4 games. Lets see what the kid's got already! Unless he is still hobbled by the ankle but if he can go Cat may be a secret weapon who actually helps give us a shot at this game. I could see Catapano, Zombo getting to Manning. Its a combo there isnt much film on that Denver can study

Do you think Denver has a bit of a different game plan when they are in a shoot-out or behind? Maybe they were forced to throw the ball a bit more against NE. KC scored the fewest points against Denver all season. There was no reason for Manning to sit in the pocket and take his time. They didn't need him to.

Manning loves the blitz. He knows it opens holes in coverage and he has the foresight to see them.
