CHEAP HOTEL KC

My dumbass child who is 22 went to KC tonight with a few friends before his best friends wedding Sunday night. Borrowed my new car and got a hotel. He calls me and says the hotel is in the hood and nothing like it described itself online. Wanted me to book him a room at the plaza. I said grow a pair or get your own damn room. Problem is I started thinking that its my car setting in the parking lot. He is staying at a place called the CAPRI. If anyone knows the spot whats the chance my car will return in one piece. I probably should get him another hotel but I remember when he was young he was an Elway fan and I know he did it just to piss me off.

Ok I am a little concerned for him also. Is there area ok or should dad break out the wallet again?

You loaned your brand new car to a dumbass kid.

You should fix your own mistake by opening your wallet, dumbass.

Lesson learned.

Well it was a motel so that is usually the first sign. Haha.

It is in a bad part of town but at the end of the day it is only Kansas City. Nothing bad will happen unless he does stupid things to invite bad things to happen.

Better break out the wallet and send him over to the Sheraton or the Westin... better include valet parking for your car.

Meh, not a whole lot going on that far north on Indep Ave. If he were further south it'd be a bit sketchier, but he'll learn his lesson. Put a tarp on the car or something if you're paranoid, but it's probably no big deal.

I know a guy who was doing cell-related contracting in the River Market area for a short time and either stayed at the Capri, or one of his fellow contractors did. He told me a story of a guy complaining about the smell of the room, then the presence of huge flies. This thread reminded me, so I looked it up and apparently the story he told me is true:

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/gruesome/bodybed.asp

Quote:
On 10 July 2003, a man checked into the Capri Motel, just east of downtown Kansas City, and began complaining about a foul odor in his room. Management told him nothing could be done about the problem, and he spent three nights in his room before checking out because he could no longer stand the smell. When the cleaning staff came in to make up the room on 13 July, they lifted the mattress and underneath found a man's body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
apparently the guy died when being serviced by some lovely local women, they freaked out, stashed the body, and took off!
