Well they make a good point about our QB and offense.... BUT, said QB and offense was more than enough to SPANK Oakland in Oakland.
By virtue of where they are now, they're contenders. That can change over time of course, one way or the other. I certainly wouldn't write them off as easily as Chad Johnson & Co did.

They're also completely wrong when they say that the Chiefs didn't beat Carolina - that Carolina beat themselves. WRONG! KC held Cam & Co scoreless the whole 2nd half and made the defensive plays when they had to and had just enough on offense to get the job done. Had Smith & Co done more, they would have blown them out, and that's the element that's missing when people grade the Chiefs.

The whole contender pretender thing is reeruned. The whole any given sunday can eliminate any contender in the playoffs. Any year, there aren't more than 1 or 2 pretenders in the playoffs *COUGH*AFCSouth*COUGH**cough**coughcoughcough*

Don't blame them one bit.
Should've lost the last two games and that's no joke. We play like that against a playoff caliber team and we get spanked. Oh and Alex Smith is a joke.

That's what having an offense and a QB that do practically nothing does.

1 TD in two games is pathetic and will not get us anything. Smith is costing us on the scoreboard big time. His shit play will be the reason we don't win the division.

You might be right. Smith is going to have to step up at some point or it will be more of the same for the Chiefs.

Don't really care for the "Contender/Pretender" way of doing it, but they gave a fairly accurate description of the Chiefs. Offense is not good and the defense is the saving grace with a +14 in turnovers. The defense is the reason we sit at 7-2.

If the offense doesn't get better, we are toast when we start playing teams with playoff caliber offense & defense. I expect Sunday to be the low point offensively of the season, so I do expect them to get better.

Simply put, the offense is going to HAVE to be better than #26 in total yards per game, #22 in passing yards per game, #20 in rushing yards per game, and #17 in points per game to get it done in the playoffs.

The Patriots were "contenders" in 2010
The Ravens were "pretenders" in 2012
The Packers were definitely"contenders" in 2011 at 15-1

In other words, who cares?

How can they respect us with our 2nd half defense being the way it has been this year? The numbers the Chiefs have put up in that caregory is AT LEAST as prestigious as Jack Elliott (Mr. Baseball) leading his team in 9th inning doubles in the month of August!!!!!

Talking about how the offense sucked Sunday, specifically Alex, isn't gonna do any good or serve any point..

It was bad. We know this. But it was also more of an exception than the norm to what's usual.

If anything, it should make it clear to Andy and Alex that things have to be better and different, and thus we should see some positive change.

The only thing that matters is what the team thinks of themselves, & this team believes in winning and beating anybody.
