2016 NFL Teams at UK announced. No AFC West

Three games. A new stadium. At least three new teams.

Those are among the highlights of the 2016 UK International Series schedule as the NFL will reward its incredible UK fans for their passion and support by adding a new stadium experience at Twickenham and feature at least three teams that have not previously played a regular-season game in London.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC South division matchup in Week 4 on Sunday, October 2, at Wembley Stadium; in Week 7 on Sunday, October 23, in the first-ever NFL game at Twickenham Stadium, the St. Louis Rams will host the NFC East team that finishes in the same spot in the standings as the Rams do in the NFC West based on the NFL's scheduling formula; and in Week 8 on Sunday, October 30, the Cincinnati Bengals will play their first international game when they host the Washington Redskins at Wembley.

The formula for the second game means that the Rams will face either the Philadelphia Eagles making their first regular-season trip to the UK, the Dallas Cowboys or New York Giants making return visits, or Washington becoming the first team to play in consecutive weeks in London.

"The passion our UK fans have shown for the NFL is overwhelming," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "We are very appreciative of the strong and growing fan support, not only for the games, but for all of the related NFL events we host in the UK throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming new fans to their first NFL game in 2016 and welcoming back thousands of others that are helping our sport grow to new levels of popularity in London and beyond."

If you're going to post a complete article from another site, it would be nice to put a link back to the original.

I think I read somewhere that Denver can't give up a home game from a legal standpoint. I "Think" it's something to do with the agreement with the city. I guess since they forked over some change to build the stadium, they're not hip to the idea of losing revenue.

You are correct, they're legally bound to play X number of games there every year... like 10, so the 8 regular season and preseason hit that number. So, if Denver ever does play abroad, you know the fix is in with the NFL because they would have to guarantee that Denver advances with a home game.

Every city should be doing this. What the NFL is doing is a dick move to the cities that host NFL teams.

what sort of rotation does the NFL have for teams going over there? Since we just went, are out of the rotation for the next four years or so?

(assuming Clark doesn't volunteer)

I thought the fix being in with the NFL and Denver was already established anyhow

I mentioned this in another thread. Hurting the integrity of the game to win over new fan bases shows how low the NFL has sunk to. There are ways to do this without this dumb shit. How I despise the dickheads leading the NFL.

Since to me a trip to the UK is a rather big disadvantage for a team to have to make, every team ought to have to be in the rotation. Life may not be fair, but the NFL SHOULD BE

Or the NFL should cut this nonsense out and get rid of this dumb shit entirely.

Do what soccer does and play friendlies where we send practice squad and backup players to play European national teams. Put more preseason games there. Put the Pro Bowl there. But stop with this stupid shit that creates competitive imbalance.
