I don't give a shit but he really unloaded on Sherman. It was a savage de-cleating.

You can see it here. Sherman is lined up to Smith's left. Definitely the kind of hit you don't need in the NFL now-a-days. |

Looks like the NFL's play to ensure Roethlisberger has a chance at a final ring is in play...kind of like when they retroactively suspended S.Smith.
It led to ManningStein's final Arrowhead drive (Flemming)...and ultimately gave homefield to the Donks... It's kind of amazing...that Osweiler led the Donks back against the Pats in the 4th quarter....well that and total shit officiating. It finalized homefield... NFL gets what NFL wants...it's just much more overt since Goodell and their advertising deal. |

Why exactly is that hit illegal? I always wondered why people didn't do that to Peyton Manning WRs when they were crossing the field 5 yards from the LOS

Very interesting. My initial reaction was to wonder why the hit was illegal, but after looking at it, he drilled Sherman while the ball was in the air. It seems like that should be a penalty, though I don't know exactly what to call it.
I don't mind seeing opposing teams get five-game suspensions, but I guess it depends on when/if we play them and when our division rivals play them.

Generally those type of hits come when they player isn't looking. If a CB tried to do that on the los the receiver would do a little juke and run right by them.

Look at the hit on Sherman. Dude was looking.into the backfield and Burfict levels him. It's cheap. It's dirty. And it has no place in the game.
