Clark Hunt, Veach, and this entire organization is a class act and deserve credit.

As the Chiefs prepare for Super Bowl there are a number of little things I've felt it necessary to point out or take notice of. A lot of individuals deserve credit for getting this team to where it is, mainly, Mahomes, but there are others that paved the way for this.

1. Clark Hunt. I know he's kind of a nerdy guy, but like his father he is a class act. Nothing but class and professionaliship when he accepted the Lamar Hunt trophy. But besides writing the checks, I think Clark himself deserves a ton of credit for the current status of the Chiefs.

As we all know he was hands on in bringing Reid to town, but his decision to remove Dorsey and go with Veach, a move at the time the I man many struggled with, clearly was the right decision. Props to Clark for one, knowing what he wanted, and two, having the balls to follow through. I don't think we are here with John Dorsey at the helm, and that's coming from a Dorsey fan.

2. Breat Veach. I've always been a fan of his, but hated the way it happened. Yet over time he was clearly the right man and the right fit for the Chiefs. I'll be 100% honest, after last year we all knew anything was possible with Mahomes, but I never thought he could tear down and rebuild the defensive side of the ball in one off season. And that's especially so when you consider we traded away our first round pick for Frank Clark and didn't draft a corner early in the draft. His 2019 draft and free agent signings were excellent.

3. Andy Reid. The dude is no joke. Every coach makes a bad call, but damn Reid is just the perfect fit in KC, especially with a QB like Mahomes. I feel this year more than ever, Reid is letting the leaders on this team take control, show their personality. Man I want him to get a ring.

4. Steve Spagnuolo. I had my doubts, but the staff he put together and his style of defense is one of the main reasons the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl. What I like most is that his half time adjustments work most of the time. Great hire. Props to Andy and Veach for knowing exactly who to go out and get.

One Observation: The trophy celebrations on Sunday were interesting to me. The Chiefs were perfect, Clark, Norma, Reid, Mahomes, HB, and Kelce. Everything a fan would ever want to see. Veach did not seek the limelight, which is impressive, and much different than John Lynch in San Fran. It says a ton about Veach IMO and validates Clark's decision to replace Dorsey.

If Andy could build a qb from the ground up to suit his coaching style, it would be Patrick Mahomes. Remember when we all bitched about Reid not running the ball with the lead? **** that, we can throw every god damn down with Mahomes. Though Reid has learned apparently as we did a great job against Tennessee running the ball to run the clock out, starting in the third quarter. I didn't see that coming, and neither did the Titans

I'll start with Clark. While much like his dad in his appreciation of the fans, he's a businessman first. He makes the tough decisions and isn't afraid to take a chance.
Veach --what can I say? While Dorsey started the job, it was Veach that jumped on a table for PMII, wasn't afraid to dispense of popular, overpaid players, and found diamonds in the rough (Pennell, Ogbah, Wis) for pennies. All those guys deserve to be back in red and gold next year with some extra cash.
Reid. While we were warned of his clock management and other flaws, you have to admit he was the right hire at the right time. I agree that now that he has true leaders, he's letting them have a lot more leeway.
Spags. I know many were doubtful about him and most of us were wondering about the hire mid-season, he's done a great job in turning the D around. So it's not top 5 or 10 ---yet. Maybe it won't ever be, but it sure is better than what we had.

Reid finally has an offense that can execute all of his ideas. The offensive genius finally has the players he needs to do everything he wants to do.

Honestly, the Titans defense dictated that we run the ball. Andy/Pat simply went with it.

A culmination of all the above. BUT the icing on the cake is Veach. I, too, was a Dorsey fan. But how many times did Veach go to the dumpster and find a spectacular player to contribute? Without thinking I came up with 4! Color me impressed!

I didn't see the Halas presentation. Could you be more specific about Lynch? I'll seek it out and take a look, but just wondering what your thoughts were.

Having a generational QB and a Hall of Fame coach goes a long way.

They’ve done a good job of roster building, now let’s continue to be smart with the salary cap and draft capital, see.....Belichick.
