Study: James Bond has a “severe” drinking problem

New Zealand’s University of Otago published a paper Monday in the Medical Journal of Australia, revealing that James Bond fits six out of 11 criteria for being an alcohol abuser, Fox News reports.

Over the course of six decades, 007 has sipped from 109 drinks while fighting international terrorism. The secret agent gulped down half dozen of his signature cocktails in 2008’s Quantum of Solace, which researchers believe places his blood alcohol level at a near-fatal 0.36%

Bond’s binge drinking does affect his work: he sleeps with the enemy (sometimes with knives and guns in the bed).

The study calls on MI6, 007’s employer, to do more to change the workplace culture around drinking and de-stressing. “MI6 management needs to redefine Bond’s job to reduce his stress levels. More field support and a stronger team approach are needed so that his duties do not weigh as heavily upon him,” the study suggests.

Well duh. They really needed to a study on this? Ever read any of the original Ian Fleming books? The guy was depressed over the death of his wife...he also struggled with the job. He was tormented about murdering people, even if it was justified. In the books, he was an alcoholic that smoked like a chimney.

So just to be clear...

There were researchers (undoubtedly in the social sciences) at New Zealand’s University of Otago who were PAID to not only research, but also write a 'study' about the drinking habits of James Bond?

Think about that.

Yeah. Okay. These places are robbing kids. Taking their money and using it for trash like this. Worthless. This is the type of thing a loser does, only creating a youtube video instead of a 'study'. Geeks do this shit for FREE. What's next? Thank god it's not in the States, though I'm sure there's plenty of this kind of stupid shit happening all over the country. Kids paying too much for college (which often also take gov't money) which is being spent in trash research while costs keep skyrocketing. Disgraceful.
