I'd say he has made a number of them. I think he is a pretty decent slot corner.

He's not bad. I view him much the same way I do Parker at this point: he's got a lot of warts and isn't an impact player but not all 11 guys need to be.

He's solid and that should be good enough to field a winning team.

Solid is what I would say as well. I trust him more than Parker. I don't see Parker as a long-term solution, even without considering the contract. With Nelson, at the right price, he could be a solid nickel for a while with a decent secondary around him.

C+ showed little appreciable growth over his numbers from last years 15 games, no impact plays either year... no picks, no sacks the last 2 years, a couple fumble recoveries in 2016

Worse than expected, you hope to see genuine growth from a 3rd rounder

Slightly smaller role going forward, just trying to be realistic about upcoming improvements, he'll still play some

Stable ability, he likely is what he is

We gave up a 3rd for him, and he has played plenty... I want equal value in return

Cant decide between Da Vinci or Galileo, too much greatness to break down there... call it a push

*edited to C+, was too hard on him with C-

I'm relatively bullish on Steven Nelson. He's a good tackler and good in coverage. His only weakness is that he's not a playmaker. If he learns to track the ball, he can be a very good player. But even as he stands, I think there's a notable role for him on the team.

One thing I will say for him is this: slot CB is probably the 2nd hardest position to play in the NFL right now behind QB. To find a guy like him who does a serviceable job is nice to have.

Also, it's made even tougher for him since Sutton doesn't let Peters stick on the #1 WR.

Nelson had an amazing game against Oakland when he played on the outside due to Peters being suspended. Would like to see more impact plays, but he did force a fumble or 2 IIRC.

I'm giving him a straight B. He slightly exceeded overall, but his real value is as a slot CB. Our pass defense improved when he returned. I think he's stable for right now and may ascend once he's totally healed. If we had to trade, I'd want a 2nd for him. Gimme Leo.
