I prefer not
I want my head coach focusing on the bigger picture strategies. No, I don't think Reid will ever give up calling the plays. I get the feeling he cares more about enjoying the experience than winning a super bowl. A zen sort of thing. Also why he is ok with having Alex Smith. He has a QB that's not a pain in the ass and does what he's told. Andy prefers that over a better talent but is a dick ala Donovan McNabb.

It's the Chiefs way.
Do something that has rarely worked in history and hope that they will succeed at it. |

Andy will not give up playcalling. The satisfaction of out smarting your opponent to victory is what drives him. I remember listening to the moving the chains guys talking about Andy Reid as HC/OC, play calling and scheming. Hes actually a very smart schemer, but with all the other duties he assumes on gameday as HC it proves to be too much at times going way back to his time in Philly. Clock mgmt issues, getting the plays in on time, getting away from whats working to throw out some cute fake reverse screen he came up with earlier in the week only for it to result in a 5 yard loss and effectively end a promising drive. I think if he HAD a better QB that could take advantage of big play opportunities it would make up for the head scratcher play calls. |

Hate it. It has to play a roll in his clock management issues.
Problem is, Reid has stubbornly stuck with the things he's criticised about. He's not changing.
