So Tommy Brasher, one of the better DL coaches in the NFL, moves to Special Projects while Britt "I'm not qualified for anything football except my dad" Reid gets the job as DL coach? WTF?

I don't think the 3 young guys on the roster know how to rape anything. I don't think any rookie brought in will know how to rape anything. I'm assuming that the OLBs get some work with the DL coach as well, and we know for sure Dee Ford doesn't rape shit. Call me not impressed by this. Reid moving to assistant DL wouldn't make me cry so much, but this has me legitimately worried moving into the future. The plus is that Brasher is still here and so is the assistant.

Tommy Brasher is older than ****ing dirt. I assume this was something that he requested. Probably felt that he couldn't do the same job that he used to.

I don't blame the Chiefs for moving Brasher, he's 75 years old. I'm just kind of leery of Reid taking over as the primary DL coach. From all reports the players like Britt, and I know Howard has stated that Reid is a big reason for his ascent. The kid really doesn't have the requisite background to be in such a position, but maybe he's been paying attention to Brasher for the past few years and has been able to replicate his style. Who knows, maybe the decision will turn up roses. I won't be overly critical yet, but if the young guys fall flat on their face I'll know where to point all the blame.

Britt was just as much of a duggie as his deceased brother Garrett. Even assuming Britt is 100% clean, it's not like he can just go up and start his NFL coaching career after having zero connections as a player through the pro OR collegiate ranks. Thus, his dad is the only way he can get his NFL coaching career started.
Andy loves his son, I imagine, but I seriously doubt that Britt Reid gets promoted like this if he weren't ready. As it is, he had to put in 3 years as a QC coach. That's a job that will generally prepare you for a lot of stuff in the NFL. |
