Chiefs Offensive Line Featuring 4 Players They Didn't Have Last Year

was reading this article on KCChiefs.com and figured I'd share here.
I'd say the O line is a better group than last year's version despite losing our starting Center.

http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/article...a-4c72d56211b9

3 linemen we didnt have last year with a good amount of NFL experience and 1 new rookie who has good feet and versatility.

1) 2015 2nd rd draft pick (Morse)
2) Free Agent Grubbs
3) Free Agent Fanaika
4) Jeff Allen (was out last season with elbow injury)

1 1st rd draft pick (Grubbs) and 2 2nd round picks (Morse & Allen)...and Fanaika was a 7th round pick but brings alot of NFL experience with him.

Hopefully Fisher takes another step up and starts playing closer to his #1 overall draft pick status.

Thoughts on our O line going into the 2015 season?

It won't be elite, and a bunch of dumbasses will blame it for all of the team's troubles.

I actually think it will improve significantly, and by the end of the year will start to look like a 12-17th ranked OL or so.

That's good enough to win you playoff games.

Win? I'm not familiar with this winning of Playoff Games that you speak of. What does this term mean?

And yet people will still make excuses for Alice Smith when he misses playoffs.

I do think having Grubbs next to him will really help Fischer a lot.

You hated that Morse pick more than anybody on here (and for good reason IMO). With that said, if the guy is a direct contribution to a fringe top 10 offensive line, it has to be at least decent right?

Absolutely. My problem with the pick had more to do with doubling down on a failed strategy for building the offensive line that has plagued the Chiefs up to this point.

And yes, I know everybody keeps telling me, "You can't blame Pioli's failures on Dorsey." True, but I can get pissed when the offensive line is made up of a bunch of high-profile unknowns (players whom the GM will do everything in his power to avoid cutting) and when we continue to add to that stack, it's not exactly solving the problem.

My problem with the pick is simply the fact that the odds are not really in our favor of a rookie OL draft pick turning immediate dividends to the point where we can say, "We're fine at C/RG for next year. We've got Morse." Odds are Morse is either not going to win a starting spot or he's going to have some significant struggles to fight through. Then guess where we'll be next offseason. "The OL ****ing sucks. I hate how we're gambling on Morse turning out when we don't know what kind of player he is. We need to draft some interior offensive line!"

Basically, if Morse is a rookie phenom and plays great, then yes, the pick was worth it. That's not impossible or even unlikely, but I wouldn't say the percentages are greater than 50% that he can do that. So then the alternative is Morse playing meh/bad, and going into next year gets an automatic penciled-in start, while people like milkman bitch about how bad he was and how he needs competition.

Other than what Mizzou fans tell me and the stories about how a bunch of teams were going to draft him if we didn't, there's not much I have to go off of that says he'll be any less of a headache than Jeff Allen has been.

Well, if they play anywhere close to the level they played last year, the blame will be justified and it will be the dumbasses attempting to deflect blame from the offensive line to other positions on the team.

You've basically replaced Hudson for Grubbs in terms of play quality. Other than that, it's a crap shoot at this point.

They are going to have to re-build continuity and hope that some of these guys can actually play.

It's far from a sure thing at this point. The biggest question mark on the team from a positional perspective.
