First FA Pickup of Off-season?
As many of you know, this kid LOVES him some Kansas City Chiefs. Hasn't had a stellar career, but could turn it around here as he's still young, 25. If not a starter, quality depth/



Shane Ray found late notice he’d be inactive “disrespectful”

The Broncos made linebacker Shane Ray and safety Su'a Cravens healthy scratches for their game against the Browns on Saturday night and neither player was thrilled by the development.

Ray said, via Ryan O’Halloran of the Denver Post, that he found it “disrespectful” to learn late in the week that he would be on the inactive list. Cravens said that he disagreed with head coach Vance Joseph’s explanation that the team was going with its best players.

Ray, a 2015 first-round pick, has come off the bench in 11 games for the Broncos this year. He has 10 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in what seems likely to be his final year in Denver as he’s out of contract once the year is up.

Cravens joined Denver in a trade with Washington and spent two months on injured reserve with a knee problem. The 2016 second-round pick has 18 tackles in five appearances.

Sure, why not?

- He's a local kid, fan of the team.
- Probably wants to prove himself, why not do it against the team that doesn't want him?
- He's better than KPass or Pillsbury Speaks

Only question is, how much $ is he going to cost vs how much playing time will he see if Houston and Ford are in front of him?

I think you spend money to get Earl Thomas.

Then you trade up and get the best corner your draft pick can buy. Spend the rest of your offseason extending Hill, Jones, Ford.

Should be reasonable as he didn't excel in Denver for multiple reasons. Donks nixed his 5th year option for 2019, which was over $9M. I think a bonus/incentive laden contract would be on par for him. Lots of potential at 25 yrs old.

This seems like the most logical path to winning the Super Bowl next year. Especially if you have a new DC.

Veach is an ex WR...he tried to improve the defense..literally spent the the entire draft on it + Hitchens.

Draft a RB, TE and WR in the first 3 rounds... sign Benjamin and just outscore everybody for the next 3 years.

Stick to what you are good at...NFL hates defense anyway.

Totally agree that secondary needs new blood. Not sure E.Thomas is the answer. He'll be 30 next May; injury history; & will want HUGE payday. There will be others available. I like Landon Collins. 24 yrs old. Top 5 safety. Should be free agent unless tagged. Coming off torn labrum but should be fine. Might get a discount due to recent injury. More of a SS.
