Who should be the second-string running back?

The Chiefs seem to have some talent at the running back position. Assuming that Jamaal Charles retains the first-string spot, who should be the main second-string back to give him a breather occasionally?

Poll lining up behind Sherman and about to come your way.

I wonder what we could get in trade for Knile Davis?

I like both West and Reaves.

Was there any reason for Knile not getting much burn last night? Chandrick filled the role spectacularly. If I were Knile, I'd be looking over my shoulder.

You can definitely make an argument that Charcandrick West should be #2 at this point. Knile isn't bad, and I'm glad we have him, but he's more of a one-cut guy rather than a juke the shit out of everyone in sight kind of guy.

Give West enough carries, and he'll break one wide open here and there.

Should depend on the situation.

Short yardage with Knile and moderate/long yardage and passing downs with West.

I don't see Knile returning when his contract is up. Hell I wouldn't be shocked to see him traded.

It still has to be Knile Davis. The guy has shown that he can make plays in this offense, and unless he gets back into fumbling the football, I don't really see West unseating him.

Its going to come down to who is the more complete back. I like West's ability to run the football and he had a fantastic second-effort play on 3rd and one to get that first down after being caught in the backfield. That being said, if the guy cant pass protect, then he really cant be in there unless the play is designed to go to him, and defenses will simply key in on him like they do with DAT, because DAT is never in the game unless its some bullshit bubble screen or quick hitter to him. Not too hard to figure out.

I think they will have plays that are designed to go to him a few times a game, but as for being the overall #2, Knile Davis still has to be that guy. He's the perfect compliment to Charles.

West is more physical than Davis.

I'm kind of torn, because Davis is more of a change-up pitch from Charles. But then again, I've always thought the "thunder and lightning" theme was overdone. I'd rather have the best two players on the field.

Davis certainly has speed and we've seen him make plays, but my goodness, West was doing everything last night. He made a great catch, singlehandedly got a first down with no blocking in the second quarter, and I saw him doing some good blocking on one play. He's more similar to Jamaal than is Davis, but I'm having a hard time seeing him get no carries as the #3 back.

Reaves looked good as well, but it's a crowded backfield.

Disagree entirely.

West did an outstanding blitz pickup last night, and hasn't been a liability as a blocker at all.

I disagree about Knile being a short yardage guy

Davis doesn't have much power and isn't that shifty in the the hole. He doesn't even see the holes that well. Davis is a 1-cut and go type runner with good size and speed.

West is quicker and shiftier
Reaves has more power and better leverage

I'd like to see West and Reaves as returners as well.
