If it cost $100 more to get no deductible it's probably worth it.
A manufacture's dealership is probably the safest bet if you need to purchase a warranty. What kind of vehicle are you wanting to get a warranty for? |

Those on TV are about $100 a month and usually only good up to 150K miles. Your manufacturer's warranty is usually 3 years/36K miles although some will warranty the drivetrain longer. Buyer beware.

If I was mechanically inclined, I would almost never purchase one of those, but since I can't do much more than the basic stuff, I got an extended through the dealership

There's a reason the F&I guy is normally the richest guy at the dealership. "Lifetime warranties", glass etching, etc. all add to his/her wealth and often screw the salesman -not that he/she cares.

I bought my daughter a Dodge Ram 1500 with 94,000 miles and then purchased an extended warranty that covers it for 60 months up to 170,000 . I guess I'll find out if they're any good when I blow the motor up at 169,950

I do not, in spite of getting at least one call a week from some lowlife slippery Larry trying to sell me one. A lot of them are just automated robocalls. I block every one of them, but they must have millions of numbers.

Here is a typical purchase from a Stealership! Salesman: "this is a great car, very reliable" Finance guy:" Oh man you better purchase an extended warranty. It's a bazillion dollars to replace a transmission, And the computers those are gonna cost you!" Me: "Wait a minute your salesman just told me how great this car is, now you're in here telling me it's a piece of shit and its gonna cost me big time in repairs!" |
