Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes looks like a star already, but that’s not all

The Chargers were clearly determined to stop the run. This offense will take whatever the defense leaves open. It’s versatile and they won. If the Steelers are determined to stop Hill you might see Kelce or Hunt have a huge day. Get used to that.

It actually seemed to calm PM down a bit. After those first few drives when it was looking easy (and James made a goddamn amazing play to break up what would have been one of the better touchdown throws I've ever seen), he was falling into some Texas Tech habits and maybe making the game a little too fast/too arcadish. That's great when it works but doesn't work for 60 minutes. The defense needed a blow and there were 2-3 series there in the middle, especially that first drive coming out after the half, where they really methodically shoved it down SD's throat. I don't think the running game was good, but I don't think it was terrible either. It was a C+/B- effort. Room for improvement but still a hell of a lot better than the secondary played...

Your D sucks. Though PM2 looks to be able to gun his way past that obstacle.

Most importantly, it's relative to the guy who they traded in order to get Patrick, and his awesomeness, on the field. Don't worry. By the end of the season people in KC will barely remember Smith. |
