Isla Mujeres

Me and the Mrs and some family and friends are headed to Isla Mujeres MX Saturday for a week stay.

Plan to do some diving and snorkeling and mucho eating and drinking.

Who has been there and what suggestions you got for restaurants etc....

Reporting back on Isla.

Absolutely fantastic trip, best bang for the buck best trip we have made out of about a half dozen destination vacation trips.

Food was excellent. We didn't eat on the resort much at all, found little cafes for breakfast and ate dinner somewhere different every night. Ate the biggest lobster tail I have ever seen while there. Probably 1.5- 2lbs? Really good stuff though warm water lobster just isnt as good as cold water IMO but still very good and dang cheap.

Snorkeling was ok.

Fishing was good. I caught 3 barracuda and my brother caught a tuna.

Exploring the island was really fun. Found several dive bars on the south end that were a blast.

The brewery sadly was not much to see at all. Beer was decent but the place is the size of my kitchen. They cant sell you beer to drink at the brewery but you can buy bottles and step outside and drink them on the sidewalk.

We have already decided to go back, possibly this fall.

P.S. -The female type scenery was just insane. Amazing how well bathing suites have "devolved".

Glad you liked it. Isla Mujeres was my favorite place in the Yucatan on my trip. I found a place on the beach that made amazing, strong pina coladas - and just parked there for the view.



Tulum was ok but kinda expensive and I didn't like the layout where the beach so was so far away from the action.

Isla Holbox is the only other place I wish I'd checked out in Yucatan. After Caye Caulker, Utila and Little Corn - I always look for islands that are too small for cars. It's just a different vibe.

Shoulda just booked Moon Palace... woulda gotten a day at isla mujeres and tulum for free..
