Spinoff: Dez Bryant's playoff 'non-catch' revisited

There's been lots of talk about the new catch rules. People say it shouldn't be this difficult then we have four different opinions on what should constitute a catch within the same thread.

So, we revisit the Dez Bryant no-catch in the playoffs a few years ago. It was ruled incomplete, but what do you think? I'm not interested in how you feel about it as it relates to the rules when you were growing up, at the time of the play, or now. I just want to know if you think Dez Bryant caught this pass.

Under the old rules -- not a catch. Didn't complete the act of catching the ball because he didn't "survive the ground".

Under the new rules -- catch. Possession/control, two feet down, and then a third step and/or stretch for the goal line (football moves). First and goal from the 1/2 yard line.

I honestly don't CARE what the hell the rule is, but just enforce it consistently. If the new rules will allow that, GREAT. The fewer the controversies, the better.

Hard to tell by the old rules, but Dallas would have lost that game anyways even if it was ruled a catch.

Yeah, clearly the ground jarred the ball loose, but it was never on the ground. It should be a catch.
