Officiating and replay review in other sports compared to the NFL

As we've read recently, lots of NFL fans are growing increasingly frustrated with officiating and the replay review system in NFL.

I don't watch many other sports, so I don't know if this is strictly an NFL problem, or if it's happening across other sports/leagues. I'd like to hear the comparisons from all other leagues, from NCAA Football to MLB.

Who is using the replay correctly? Who is ****ing it up?

Which leagues have solid officiating?

Which leagues have officiating so bad, that fans are turning away like the NFL?

Who are the Jeff Triplettes of the other leagues?

Which leagues feel rigged like many claim for the NFL?

What is the equivalent of the catch rule in other leagues?

The NFL has too many damn rules. Many of them are so utterly pointless and should have no business influencing games. Taunting is the most frustratingly stupid penalties to emphasize. Less rules means less penalties meaning less opportunity to call something stupid, and more consistent enforcement of the rules.

I find that the NCAAF does a much better job than does the NFL, however, they still can take too long.

So they need to devise a system where they can be much more thorough.. and also much faster in deciding the review. This should not be a difficult feat.. but the real question is.. do they want to do this? and that's a discussion that can be continued in the other thread.
You haven't seen Pac 12 officiating have you?

Well they call holding on 95% of punt returns that's for sure. Even when the kick goes out of bounds and no one touches it!

WTF?

Agreed. Also, too many of the rules are subjective. PI, catches, forward progress, etc. Two different refs could call the same play differently.

Remember when they used to have the live official who would weigh in on challenges? He almost always disagreed with the refs officiating the game.

Not related to replays, but one thing they could do is stop using "all star" playoff refs. You have the same teams of refs work together all year in the regular season, then you break them up and put the "best" refs with a different group for the most important games of the season. It makes ZERO sense. Just keep the reffing teams together. If you have to use the best, use the best groups, not the best individuals.
