Best draft picks by Round - Round 1 - The poll!
My writeups of first-round picks took a bit longer than I expected, so I'll put the poll up as a separate thread. If you'd like to read about each pick, go to this thread: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...0#post13042200
Here's my ranking of #1 through #56 if you'd like to see them all in one place. How would you rank them differently?
Spoiler!

In retrospect, my rankings in the 17 to 24 range are the ones that I'm most uncertain about. That was kind of the breaking point between strong short-time players and decent longer-tenured players.

I also really went back and forth on Tony G. versus Buck at the #1 spot. You can make a strong argument for either one, and perhaps even an argument for DT.

I thought your ratings were pretty damn good overall.
Thank you for your work and time put in. I'd still put Buck at #1 |

I went to check on Derrick Thomas box but the mouse cursor went and checked on Patrick Mahomes II.

Those of you voting for anyone not named Buck Buchanan, Tony Gonzalez or Derrick Thomas is being dishonest.
DT got my vote.

Yep. It's too soon to make Mahomes the best pick ever. In a few years, he hopefully will be. But not yet. I see that there are 4 votes for him. The obvious 2 are Clay and SDH. I'm not sure who the other two are. But they should know better.

There is two sides to this "coin". For me as far as what they have actually done on the football field it is Derrick Thomas. The other side of the coin is what Mahomes means in a symbolic nature about the future of the Chiefs.

My logical answer is Buck Buchanon, you know, because Super Bowl and all. But he was really before my time. How do I know that he was the best of the bunch? It comes down to DT, TG, and Eric ****ing Berry for me. In the end, I have to go with DT. Man, no one could disrupt a game quite like him.

I've seen them all play and in my book, it's a toss up between Buck and DT. I'm going to go with Buck.
