I think I've been happy in the week after the draft twice. I loved the '15 draft and the '11 draft. I've followed these damn things since HS so starting in the late 90s and those are the only two times that when a draft was over I can vividly remember thinking "Hell yes, we just kicked that things ass!" Otherwise I just end up in various stages of resigned and/or pissed. Generally leaning towards the latter as I do not handle disappointment well.

Honestly I don't remember, but I do recall going into that draft pissed that we'd taken Matt Ryan off our board (allegedly) because he was too cocky in his interviews.
I remember being excited when Dorsey fell to us and elated that all the "Albert at 5" stuff turned out to be bullshit. I was fine where we took him. I remember thinking Charles had remarkable balance but didn't figure on him being THAT good, obviously. I loved the Flowers pick. Yeah, I was probably pretty pleased. It doesn't stand out to me as much but looking at that draft, I'm sure I was excited about the Franklin and even the Richardson picks. Yeah, I gotta believe I was pleased there, since we never even had a shot at Ryan I probably wouldn't have continued to harbor that grudge.

Yeah, looks like I was pretty pleased:

Was worried about his hands and thought we should've taken Carl Nicks (who ended up being a damn good player; so I got that right). Was okay with Cottam. Looks like I liked Dorsey but there were rumors of a trade down where I thought we should take it and select Sedrick Ellis who I thought would be there at 7 (which ended up being where he went). Was a big fan of Flowers for the Cover 2. Looks like I figured Carr would be lost in a roster crunch. I even like Morgan because I didn't think Pollard could start in a Cover 2 and would lose his job to Morgan at some point. All told, if I thought 7 guys would be strong contributors in their rookie seasons with or without injuries, that means I was pretty damn high on that draft. It really is funny what you remember and what you don't. I have no recollection of stumping for Nicks or Ellis. I don't recall being as high on Charles as I was at the time.

Just so you know. In any event, it is good that the honeymoon period for the ReidSmith is FINALLY over at Chiefsplanet. Fair chances were given and the result was, of course, typical Chiefs FAIL with a wild card jerk & spurt for Lil' Chiefy. No more defending mediocrity and banning posters in the name of crusty old Bob Dole and his tender Chiefs feelings. It's time for Fatboy, Whistletooth, and ALL of their blind homer followers to collectively curtsy and bow to the QB1 Death Cult.
