2016 KC Chiefs Goat(s)

Every year there a few Chiefs who I start out being kind of "down" on. You know, guys who are supposed to be better than their performance, or new guys who you just can't warm up to.....so, you don't exactly hate 'em, but you watch them with suspicion.

Examples of prior such "goats" include:

Alex - Too darned risk averse (i.e. deflated balls)
Fisher - Expected more of a #1 pick
Ford - Terrible at everything except first step
Wilson - Won't dive for the ball
Sorensen - Not fast enough
Parker - Misses too many tackles
DAT - Timid
Fleming - Too toasty
Gaines - Brittle
Santos - Any kicker can qualify to be disliked with a couple of bad kicks
Colquitt - See above
Etc.

Anyway, this year, the guy I'm most "down" on is Mr Dee Ford. I think the guy has a ton of physical talent, but I question his football IQ and his dedication to the sport. Yeah, perhaps he's a new man this year, but I'm gonna have to see it to believe it.

Second on my list this year is DAT. Hard to fathom what the heck happened at the end of last year. Does the guy really want to be here?

My third guy is Knile Davis. Guy has some talent, but puts the ball on the rug way too much. Hold onto the fricking ball!

So, who do you have a wayward eye on this year? Fire away, lads.

I also question your judgment because you said Charles hasn't had a great season since 2012 when he had a ****ing career year in 2013 and scored more than twice as many TDs in 2014 as he did in 2012.

You're one of those who just look at total rushing yards to gauge whether or not a RB did well and that's asinine.
No, I'm "one of those people" that isn't absolutely in love with Charles (or Berry, for that matter).

I'm also "one of those people" that's cares more about the team than the individual players.

I still prefer Priest. I don't understand the big deal.

Yeah he was only 2nd Team All-Pro that year, you're correct.

I just don't believe the that "Look at that offensive line!" is as big of a factor as most people on CP believe.

LJ had 1,789 yards in 2006 with Jordan Black at left tackle and Jon Welborn at guard.

Does that make him better than Priest or JC? IMO, no.

LDT is probably another guy on this list. Wouldn't surprise me to see him struggle like last year.

Well, it's not only that, although that is certainly the biggest factor. I mean, dude, we were legit sending three linemen to the pro bowl every season and nearly a fourth with Weigmann being on the cusp. Have we had a single Pro Bowl offensive lineman in the entire 8 years that JC's been here?

You also have to factor in other surrounding talent like QB and WR, TE. Priest had, by far, a shit ton more help than Jamaal has.

Take 2013 or 2010 JC and put him on that 2003 squad and what do you think his stats would look like?

John Tait was our worst lineman on those squads and he'd probably be the second best OL Jamaal's ever run behind
