A few questions:
What color is this vehicle? Are you buying or leasing? Do you have TimBone on ignore? (asking for a friend) Dinny |

Best way to get it out is put it back on with the impact wrench. Sway bar should have a flat spot somewhere you can put a wrench on to keep it from spinning.

If so, go to Home Depot and get a carriage bolt with the same threads and put it on a bench vise. Thread the nut onto it until all threads are engaged, and then beat the heck out of the socket with a urethane mallet from varying directions. If that doesn't work, put a solid [Matco, Craftsman] ratchet on it, then get a length of pipe you can sleeve over the ratchet for leverage. Then work the ratchet orthogonal to the loosening/tightening plane [ie, up/down]. If not high enough quality, take the nut to Home Depot and get a Grade V replacement.

When I was a teenager I went to go visit my cousin in a nearby town fairly often. One time his dad had been trying to get a stump out of the ground, but had given up for a while. He had a gigantic dog on a long chain. Some kind of mix between Black Lab and Hellspawn Demon Dog. So we wrapped one end of the chain around the stump and then I held the dog back while my cousin threw a stick in the back yard as far as he could. That dog went nuts trying to break free of me and I held it for a good thirty seconds until it yelped like it was in pain. Reflexively I released it fearing I was hurting the thing. It was just a trick and he immediately took off like a rocket. Well, when he got to the end of that chain it broke in three places. So don't use a dog to fix your problem. It probably won't work.

Finally got that ****er out. I went to Home Depot this morning and purchased a metal rod that was just thick enough to fit up the center of the hole and about 3 foot long. Took it home and slammed it hard on the ground about 5 times and it came out. The top of the nut is all f'd up from me pounding on it with a screw driver. I swear whenever I do a project like this, everything that can go wrong will go wrong.
