Given the fact that the Big 12 is loaded with basketball teams this year I don't see KSU mounting much of a showing in 2016.

KU, KSU, and Iowa State all finished at the bottom in football but at least KU and ISU have premiere basketball teams to fill the void.

For Mizzou the basketball so far has been beyond pathetic but so is the league. The SEC just can't seem to get it together in anything once they began their "conference pride" bullshit and it's starting to make them all look like clowns. Outside of Kentucky and Alabama there really isn't much to get excited about in either sport.

Throw in the fact that no one seems to be interested in the MU head coaching position and even their own staff are looking elsewhere you have to be concerned for the MU fan that they're looking at Kim Anderson Part 2 in regards to football.

Tough spots for both fanbases.

Every one of these points is spot-on. They know it too, which is why they never address any.

I'm beginning to come to your side in regards to Zenger.

The guy really doesn't do anything. He's been okay in regards to keeping the cash cow happy but literally anyone can do that.

He's been a failure so far in football and although I like Beaty I'm not convinced he's the long term answer. There were just a few too many blatant mistakes this year to overlook.

But we don't need another football change.

It's fun to make up stuff on the internet!

The point stands - if KU put a little more time, money, and energy towards supporting other athletics, they'd likely be seen as more of a destination school. But, they ride that basketball thing, which is fine for them.

Also Missouri Women's volleyball is 25th in the nation as of yesterday.

I gave props to the MU Women's volleyball team in one of my other posts.

I actually enjoy watching it quite a bit.

KU gets smoked when they play a real team like Texas but for now they are doing really well.

I misread your post. I thought you were saying Mizzou was at the bottom of the NCAA, not the top 25. Incidentally, I don't think Texas is ranked this year, which is news since they're usually a national power.

My daughter plays college volleyball on the NAIA level. I've really grown to appreciate the sport over the years. Those girls are all crazy athletic and could do some damage with those hits. Fun sport to watch.

No Texas is really good. I watched both the matches KU played against them. They were the only two matches all year that Kansas has lost.

KU has one "real deal" superstar on their team (Tiana Dockery) while Texas has 3 or 4. It makes it very difficult to win as with most women's sports upsets are rare.

What I like about it is the same reason I prefer women's tennis to men's. The power is at just the right level as to keep things fun and watchable. The men's game is just guys blasting the ball at 200 mph and rarely are there great back and forth volleys.
