Justin Houston will get a long term deal done!

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole has said the Chiefs have confirmed getting a long term deal done with Justin Houston despite initial hesitation

He said he will get north of what Robert Quinn makes and south of what JJ Watt makes.

Also said Chiefs didn't like his leadership and had poor work ethic but since the start of the season it has done a complete 180. Said the Chiefs see this as good use of money to invest in this type of player

One of the youngest teams in the NFL has only a 3 year window?

The best players on our team aren't the youngest...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yea Houston and Poe are soooo old. As long as we continue to build through the draft we can be a team like the Ravens/Steelers that can win any given year. That's the direction we're headed.

Hey, I'm the guy arguing for Houston long term.

But where will Hali, Charles, DJ, A. Smith be? Will Berry be back?

I love what we did in the draft at CB and we should be solid there for years. I'm not real excited about this youth we currently have backing up (QB, HB, LB) taking over...

This. And we're setting up the "infrastructure" if you will, that when guys like Hali, A. Smith, Berry, etc reach the end of their tenure, we have guys that can step in without us losing anything.

If only there were some sort of televised event, perhaps even a series of them, where these young players could display their skills.

I mean, sure, we'd have to wait until it was football weather and all, but if only.

Every SB team eventually makes that "push."

Hell, the Seahawks just traded for Grahm to give them another edge...

If they did I'd probably watch that and base my opinions off of it...

Maybe he will and just doesn't think we are good enough now.

Carl Peterson never really made a push. He did stupid stuff but not really a push. Maybe i'm just too old to remember it.

I think he made a push around '98. I could be off on the year, but whenever they signed Wayne Simmons (although i think he was traded for) McGlockton, O'Neal...

It seemed like they started signing players that were out of character for Marty just before he was fired.

Joe Montana and Marcus Allen was the "push" and unfortunately Joe hung up his cleats after two seasons.
