If you Were To Start A Franchise: Austin Davis or Alex Smith?

We all know Smith is a game manager. Davis is on pace to throw for 27 touchdowns and 5,000 yards with complete shit.

Discuss.

Yeah i was looking for it when they made the switch to start Hill. Thought this thread was called Alex Smith vs Austin Davis.

In the context of Jeff Fisher being a permanent 8-8 coach, it makes total sense.

Wow!!! I'd hate to be Hill. I think they've resigned themselves to a losing season and are now going to tank just to get the better draft pick. Do they really think Hill is going to be able to come off the bench and go into Denver and beat Payton Manning? Weird.

Exactly.

Hill doesnt bring a single thing to the table that Davis doesnt, the truth is that its just a bad offense, period. Bad OC, a head coach thats never had a flair for offense, bad line and not much in the skill position department.

Everyone around the league has made mention of Davis' potential, from talking heads to former players... he's a good young prospect on a crap offense, they couldnt get Bradford going and cant get Davis going either.

At some point its gotta be on the coaches/system and not on the players.

Very few NFL coaches will do this, because it could get them fired.

Yeah. Mediocre with a job is better than bad and fired. Even if the organization would be better off sucking.

We have seen several discussions of did the Texans make a mistake not taking Bortles. How about the Rams?

Anyone in need of a QB that passed on him made a mistake IMO.
