Mayweather vs Maidana 2

I'll be watching this fight tonight at a friends house and as usual I'll be cheering for Mayweather. Either know he can't read, he sure can box.

He's too fast. And by fast, I mean the speed at which he runs from his opponent. I think if I were boxing him and he started the running around the ring to avoid fighting crap, I would just go stand in the corner. Eventually he may actually come toward you if you called him out on it by just standing back.

The thing is he can fight too. He's fast and he can throw nice combo's but he just doesnt want to chance getting hit. There's a reason why they k ept talking about the ring being one of the biggest you can possibly have.


I dont know why trainers dont bitch about the holding. I have seen others get points deducted for holding, but when floyd fights they dont bitch. WHat he was doing reaching out and locking up arms is illegal. You cant do that.

This is what I was telling my GF in the 12th round. I'd go be a dick just like Floyd and stand in the corner with my arms on the ropes, relaxed.... Don't chase him cause then he wins.

Boxing should just die now if this is the best that it has to offer. No way that someone can watch MMA fights and get excited by a boxing match, especially not with the biggest star being a defensive fighter who just runs away and avoids going toe to toe at all costs.

NOt all MMA fights are exciting. Anderson Silva fought boring at times. Yes, he was a beast in his prime, but there were times where Dana even got pissed off saying it was boring and they need to fight, problem is you cant force a guy whos' so fast and so great to stand in there and fight. THey arent breaking any rules.


Floyd is a great boxing and shoudl be an all time great, but ill never say he's the greastest to ever do it. He doesnt actualy fight. His Uncle used to do that shit too until he met JCC and Chavez took everything he had to offer and just ran him over. lol

Yeah, I agree. I'm not a huge fan of fights that turn into wrestling/submission matches; sometimes it gets boring watching them lay there in each other's arms. Definitely a bigger fan of the strikers and fights that end via KO.

Floyd fights are very rarely the best boxing has to offer anymore.

There are a lot of good fighters out there, but the boxing press and politics that go with the sport mean they don't get the press/notoriety that they should.

The public is also at fault for this as well. When fighter's PPV buys drop dramatically due to a loss, fighters are going to avoid those fights.

And this fight was boring as ****. Floyd ran and Maidana showed up out of shape. His footwork was so much better in their first fight and he was able to impose himself on Floyd in the first one. He couldn't/wouldn't cut off the ring and Floyd punished him for that.

some of the best fights I've seen are no-name bouts. I've tuned in on a whim to Friday Night Fights, or something of the like, and been more than entertained.

they actually, you know, box. Mayweather's style irritates me. His record is great and he's a really good fighter, but man...
