Question for the DD-WRT experts

I'm having a problem with excess bandwidth and can't figure out where it is coming from. My Buffalo router had a really good bandwidth monitor but it is only a one size fits all overall usage monitor. I need something that will monitor usage on each individual device. Are there any add ons for DDWRT that will do this? I'm not really having any luck finding anything that will do this.

I was replacing a Netgear WNDR3700 which was the highest-performing router on the market when I bought it in 2010.

It was still functioning but was starting to crap out and with a TCP limit of 4096 sessions, I was due for an upgrade.

I bought an Asus RT-N66U, which is an N900 class router. It has 1000's of excellent reviews and a couple of different firmware options. I had nothing but trouble with mine.

If you're wanting to stay in the $100 range, you might give it a try. Otherwise, I would recommend you check out www.smallnetbuilder.com.
Wow, the belkin I am using right now is actually rated halfway decent on that sight if I am reading things right. Belkin N750 F9K1103

If you were going to upgrade, what would be your reason for doing so?

The main reason I changed was because the firmware sucks and our Pantech smartphones would always kill the router for some reason. Great router otherwise. Now we just don't attach the pantech smartphones and it never crashes.

If I could get ddwrt firmware on it I would be happy.

If DD-WRT is the main draw, I'd just go take a look at the DD-WRT forums and see what people are saying.

I'd still recommend an N class router, since DD-WRT is going to be more stable and mature.

That is a N class router.

You could step up from an N750 to an N900.

Thank you very much for the advice and the link. I will probably try to stay in the $100 and under range but would be willing to go a little higher to get something really good.

Well, I have to stick with what Buffalo is willing to send me. In this case it is a N600 that will have DDWRT on it.

I have a Netgear AC1900. I haven't fully tested it yet, it's pretty buggy.
