The number one rule you need to remember is that editing your bets is not allowed and is subject to immediate disqualification.

Remember that you must place a wager every 3 weeks at minimum. If you go without betting for 3 consecutive weeks, you will be disqualified.

The following people must bet this week or be disqualified for violating this rule.

How to read the lines

(Time, HOME TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)

How to bet the Money Line

Sample line
SAINTS +223
COLTS -243

First off, a money bet is a straight up win/lose bet. No points involved, so of course there are odds payoffs.

If you want to bet on the Saints, you will win $223 for every $100 that you bet. Conversely, for the Colts, you will win $100 for every $243 that you bet.

In other words, the team with the - money line is the favorite (therefore lower payout) and the team with the + is the under dog.

Placing Bets

PLEASE, format your bets like this:

Colts (-6) $5000
Chiefs (+142 money) $1000
Chiefs/Texans (Under 38) $2000

It will force people to bet with their hearts/heads instead of waiting to see what the guy close to them in the standings did and then bet the same or opposite.

I'd do it for the entire season but it would be too hard to manage.

Waiting to see what the other guy bets and betting the opposite is a strategy to win if you have to make up ground quickly.

Meanwhile, the guy in the lead is waiting for you to post your bets so that he can bet the same and maintain the lead.

Yeah, good strategy, I guess, but I'd rather the person that can pick the winners the best win the contest..

I actually thought about doing that a few times, but don't usually look at other bets prior to placing mine. I used to make plays with real cash a lot, and am a firm believer in "the throng is usually wrong."

Example, I went with the 9ers very early Sunday, but upon review, I think I was the only one that did.

But, if you think I am doing that, I will be glad to pull out now, no big deal. You can go back through the entire season and I have done my own thing, betting small early until I built my stash.

Factually, you cannot have been doing that or your lead wouldn't be increasing.

Yeah, I don't bet on what everyone else is betting. I usually bet according to the conventional wisdom and my gut after reading the experts picks.

Which probably explains why I've never won this.
