Croyle throws off of his back foot on occasion.

I have heard/read several people bashing on Croyle for throwing off of his back foot. I just got done watching SPORTSCENTER run highlights of some of last nights pre-season games. And guess what? Favre threw at TD pass off his back foot. So did Garcia. And Hasselback threw a pass off his backfoot as well. Looks like Croyle is in some good company IMO.

imo the only real question is to start Croyle game 1 or wait until around mid-season
i'd start crolye in game 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and the bye week too...

the kid sorta reminds me of Namath, with a lot less bluster...

rather than starting him in mid-season, why not let him be really ready to play by then...

by learning on the job, being coached up, getting familiar with what his team mates can and cannot do...

my bet is that he'll screw up like all rookies but he'll likely do so many other things well...

the more reps he gets, the further along he will be by mid-season...

That's one way to look at it. But ask yourself how many picks Brodie has thrown when throwing off his back foot. Problem also is that sometimes he has time to set his feet but he doesn't - he just "flings" it kind of side arm. YIKES!

EXACTLY! Very well said and you're not dogging the kid. He does it exactly how you described it. It's not pretty and I bet it's not easily fixed because he did it at Alabama as well. He does have potential, but jeez I hope he can learn from his mistakes...
