This argument has been disproven countless times in the NFL.
Even the good teams aren't perfect in their talent evaluation, especially when things are that close between the two players. I don't blame the Chiefs at all for going with Daniel over Murray, but I also don't blame Murray for not beating out Daniel, because in order for coaches to ignore the experience, work, and contract for Daniel, Murray's got to REALLY outplay him.
You're right that Murray is far from a savior, but there's no reason why he can't be a starter one day in the NFL, even a mediocre one.
