I was in death valley when Glen Dorsey pretty much best Bama one year visiting a buddy who played baseball at lsu.

Eh, it's hard to say that Dorsey's relative underperformance was KC's fault.
He wasn't good in SF either. Frankly, his best season(s) came in Kansas City.
The whispers about him turned out to be justified. Not strong enough to be a premier NT, not long enough to be a 5-tech and not explosive enough to be a dynamic under-tackle.
Most of the time people think of Tweeners as guys that are right in the middle of doing anything well enough to be players. Dorsey was kinda the alpha tweener - right in the middle of doing anything great enough to be a star so he just become a solid NFL regular.
Dorsey would've been an outstanding 2nd round pick but it turns out the possible knocks on him being taken that high had it right. Like you, I was fooled. I figured the explosion would come back as his knee recovered and he'd be a guy that could disrupt like Sapp did. Clearly I was wrong.
