J.J. Watt "pretend" marries 6 year old girl for the day.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon...r-old/1879937/

While the city of Houston was gearing up for the Texans' divisional playoff game against the New England Patriots, one six-year-old wasn't feeling the excitement. She was in tears.

In a video posted to YouTube, the young girl is crying because she's not 25 years old. Her mother asks why. It was simple, really: The girl says if she were 25, she'd be able to marry Texans defensive star J.J. Watt. (He's like renting a car in that way.)

The clip, and all of the crocodile tears held within, is fantastic:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/938Scds6fZA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Watt found out about the clip and asked his Facebook followers for help in finding the family. "We have to find her and turn those tears into a smile, he wrote."

The power of social media made it happen, and this week Watt "proposed" to six-year-old Breanna.

"Thanks to your help, we found 6-year-old Breanna and she said yes to being my pretend wife for the day," he posted on Wednesday.

He has the pictures to prove it.

It's a great story and one that will make Watt more popular with all genders and age groups.

And, Breanna? I've been there before, girl. The difference is, I never got to marry Belinda Carlisle, not even for a day.

There's a certain inherent creepiness factor about a 25 year old play marrying a 6 year old.

I think we've all long known how deranged I am.

(caveat: I didn't actually read any of the story; I was just being perverse)

I'm not going to lie, I'm sitting here doing a Mr. Burns with my hands awaiting in glee for Keg's response.

Pretty cool of Watt. It would be funny if he married her IRL in 20 years.

Didn't Mark Chmura do this a few years ago???

listopencil 01-31-2013 03:12 PM

In all seriousness, this was very nice of him and shows a commitment that surprises me. That little girl is going to remember that one of her heroes is a real live person. That's great for a kid. To know that heroes exist. In twenty years she'll be long over her crush but she'll remember that there are great people out there who care about each other. And he's helping her to know what a man is, or what a man should be. I was never fond of Watt. But this was a tender gesture on his part and shows a bit of his human side. He's all right in my book.

He was never around, totally absorbed in his career, and the few times he was, he never wanted to do normal couple things like tea parties in her Playskool kitchen, long romantic walks looking for bugs to squish or having nice chats about the merits of Dora the Explorer.

Actually this isn't even the coolest thing he has done, BY FAR.

I saw a deal about a couple kids whose while family got in a horrible accident and both parents died and both sons were paralyzed. Watt spends tons of time with them.

Heart warming story

Matt Cassel pretend married a 6 year old once, but she cheated on him 5 minutes into the marriage with her stuffed pig named Billy when she found out who he actually was.
