I think he was spotted on the field before the game last week.

So will Denver sit Manning?

If the Colts beat the Texans they will play to win for sure.

Nightfyre 12-23-2012 06:14 PM

I saw him on the TV mixing it up with the players before the game. Coulda been old footage or something though.

The Bad Guy 12-23-2012 06:14 PM

We have the #1 pick.

This game doesn't even need to be played next week.

The line should be Broncos -20.5

The Patriots aren't going to lose to the Dolphins.

NE holds the tiebreaker over Denver.

So if NE beats Miami at 1 (likely) then they will play for the bye.

If New England wins, Denver will need the win to seal the bye week because New England has the head-to-head.

They aren't flexing 5 games to 4.

The Dolphins/Pats, Vikings/Green Bay, Redskins/Cowboys, Ravens/Bengals, and Texans/Colts all have some meaning.

Denver is NOT going to sit Manning regardless of what happens with New England.

The stats don't lie, momentum is important going into the playoffs. Teams that rest starters end up losing.

Show me a link where it says it's going to flex any game that has meaning to 4.

Because there's actually 2 more games that have meaning Eagles/Giants, and Bears/Lions.

What would be the point of flexing 7 games into a 4 o'clock slot? The ratings surely won't improve that much from a 1-4.

Who cares. Just flex NE to 4pm to eliminate any possibility of Denver sitting starters.

How is it stupid? Not wanting the Broncos to have an easy road to the superbowl is not stupid. If it means picking 34th instead of 33rd in the second round... so be it.

If picking 1 spot back for 3 rounds means that the Broncos have to go through either New England or Houston to get to the Superbowl, then I'm down for it.

Exactly. If Jacksonville bests Tennessee (actually possible) and we lose to Denver, we get the first pick each of the three days of the draft. That's a big advantage to be able to rearrange your board and get the guy you want and not have to go to plan b...especially in a draft that is very deep in a few positions of need for us (qb, DL, etc)

Having that first pick in the second, third and fourth rounds is gonna give us a sizable advantage.

I couldn't care any less where Denver plays their playoff games.

Bewbies 12-23-2012 06:30 PM

Who gives a shit about Denver this year? Who gives a shit about the entire NFL this year?

The 2012 season is all about the future for KC, nothing to gain in the present.

The only downside to us winning next week is we have to alternate the first pick in the 2nd, 4th, and 6th round with the Jags. Having to move back 1 spot for 3 picks is a small price to pay if it means that the Broncos won't get to stay at home throughout the playoffs.

We're picking #1 overall regardless in this scenario. The only thing that changes if we win is that we'll switch picks with the Jags for the 2nd, 4th, and 6th round.

The Jags just took the Patriots to the wire.

Tennessee just gave up a 50-burger and stopped trying 2 weeks ago.

It's a very winnable game for JAX.

If I could chose between us having the top pick in every round and Denver making it to the superbowl----or alternating picks with Jacksonville In rounds 2,4 and 6 and Denver losing in the first round, I'd be perfectly fine with the first option.

This season is all about the Chiefs future and I want every advantage we can get.

Chiefs Pantalones 12-23-2012 06:38 PM

I don't care if the Donkeys shut everybody out en route to their third Super Bowl trophy. It doesn't do anything for or against us. All I care about is what's going on with my Chiefs. How are we gonna get better is what's on my mind.

We need New England to beat Miami in the early game.

Then Denver has to beat us to get a first round bye. They'll play hard for that, IMO.

So ideally, Jacksonville beats Tennessee, New England beats Miami, and then Denver hangs us on a rusty nail in the afternoon...

Denver is not going to let up. It doesn't matter what New England does. Teams that rest starters lose in the playoffs. Super Bowls are about momentum, Denver going to pound us.

This may have already been said, but Denver can finish anywhere between the 1 seed and the 3 seed, so the game definitely is going to mean something to them regardless. Manning will play.

I think the Texans and Pats play at 12:00.

If somehow they both loose, won't the Donks automatically lock up 1st seed?

Therefore the 3:00 game with the Chiefs wont matter.

Also not sure of the tiebreaker with Donks and Pats

HerculesRockefell 12-23-2012 08:55 PM

The only way Denver has nothing to play for is a Pats loss and Houston win.

Again, the league has become about getting hot at the right time.

The Broncos won't be resting anybody, even if they already have the #1 seed.

Denver could rest every starter on their team and still beat the Chiefs by 35 points.
