I remember they were on Midnight Special quite a lot. They always had them or the Carpenters or Paul Williams or some kind act for the older crowd. I was in my 20's when that show ran for about ten years, had everbody from Uriah Heep to Fleetwood Mac to Wishbone Ash, it was great. That was before Letterman after Carson, they would be on Friday nights. I didn't mind them because we didn't have to hear the co-host Helen Reddy sing, she was the worse "I Am Woman, Hear me Roar". Wolfman Jack was the other host, he was cool.
BTW, the original MacArthur Park was released by the actor Richard Harris. I remember him doing that on Ed Sullivan about 1963, I still love that song. If you haven't listened to the lyrics, you owe to yourself to do that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQmZNbVBeIk MacArthur Park Spring was never waiting for us, girl It ran one step ahead As we followed in the dance Between the parted pages and were pressed In love's hot, fevered iron Like a striped pair of pants MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark All the sweet, green icing flowing down Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it took so long to bake it And I'll never have that recipe again Oh no! I recall the yellow cotton dress Foaming like a wave On the ground around your knees The birds, like tender babies in your hands And the old men playing checkers by the trees MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark All the sweet, green icing flowing down Someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'Cause it… |

Here's some weird shit about Daryl Dragon. Its already said he was a sideman in the Beach Boys. His father Carmen was an orchestra conductor in LA. This is the one that kills me: His younger brother Dennis Dragon was the lead in an 80s band called "The Surf Punks." Tenille was only hot if you were into that short hair, Mormon vibe, Dorothy Hammil ice skater look. She looks like she'd just lay there for missionary sex, but not much more. She had nice gams though.
Oh, and "Muskrat Love" makes me violent. Keep it far away from me. |

It's good that he died peacefully, but in a way it's kind of a waste of a headline opportunity that he wasn't slain.

I was 13 when Muskrat Love came out. I hate to say it but the song kind of gives me a endorphin boost. I was making out with a this 16 year old chick and got my first blowjob to that song. That was a great summer.
