Getting through Hydrocodone Addiction

Not Chiefs related but I’m going through hell. I was literally prescribed this crap for 10 years and then I moved out of state. I knew moving no other family doctor would prescribe them to me unless my back was jelly. I think I’m doing pretty good considering that it’s been about eight days with nothing after 10 years and having it every day. Anyone else gone through this?

Prescribing an addictive drug as if it wasn’t by the handfuls is at best gross negligence and at worse money grubbing for kickbacks.

I really dont get opiates. Why would you want to do them if you didn't have to? Ive been prescribed them at least 6 times after oral surgery and surgery on my chest one time for a cyst. I wanted to get off of them as soon as the pain subsided. Made me feel groggy and like absolute shit. Never use the full script.

Couldn't get addicted to them if i tried. Yet I'm addicted to energy drinks. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Yes, all drugs react to an individuals physiology.

I tried weed at least a couple dozen times. Never got the results I was hoping for. Always bad.

alcohol though, oh mama. I'm sober now.

It might be worth a try, all doctors are different. I've just had bad, bad experiences with this topic. I'm getting fired up thinking about it.
Great ****ing advice.
I don't know if you've heard but there's this thing happening, it's been on the news a lot. A nationwide problem with opiate addiction. I don't know who you've been seeing but I'll wager the vast majority of Dr's would refer him to a treatment facility.

You're a ****ing idiot. The mother****ers were handing out oxycontin like it was candy, all the while spewing the pharma company line that it was designed to be non addictive.

Yep. Even when I drank like a fish, I was never addicted. Pot just made me stupid, hungry and sleepy. On the occasions that I've taken high powered opium-based pain pills, I never felt what I would consider an enjoyable high, and never felt need to keep popping them after the pain was gone (granted, I've never had a prolonged major injury like some of the people here).

Coke was my demon. Took a long time to shake that shit.

Maybe because this country is lawsuit crazy. Gas can manufacturers going out of business because they are constantly sued by people getting burned by pouring gas on fires from their cans. Lady suing McDonalds because the coffee was to hot. Now, we all get lukewarm coffee. People need to man up.
