Food and Drink @Dieters question about alcohol - Page 4

So I am starting a new diet, which simply put is no carbs (well trying to do less than 40g a day), and absolutely no carbs after 5pm..

I have done this diet once before and noticed very fast results almost around 15-20 lbs in 2 weeks. I have read this has a lot to do with water weight and other "fake lbs" and is put back on easily (which happened).

So my question to you CPer's is, if I actually stick to my diet this time around, can I continue to drink alcohol such as red wine, and shots of liquor? To be honest with you guys, I probably drink 5 days a week. Obviously that much isn't good for my health in general, but with that being said how much does not drinking affect weight loss? Can I continue a low/no carb diet, and still take 4-5 shots a night and see lasting effects??

I'll add another drink for ya.
Walmart sells Sparkling Ice water.... one bottle of that mixed with a third cup of heavy whipping cream and take your choice of low cal low carb alcohol (something clear)
It's pretty good

Last month I tried the whole 30, adjusted so I could eat rice and some dairy. But I gave up all sweets and cereal and salty snacks, which I was eating a lot of at night while playing video games.

I agree with others that moderation and a balanced constant diet regimen combined with exercise is the way to go

This. If you drink too much you will not burn fat and you will also dehydrate and your body will hold onto your fluids and make you smoothed over. For me I want a lot more calories after I drink. I’m sure it’s because you flush out a lot of nutrients when you drink and pee all night. Vicious cycle. Don’t drink.

Alcohol is a high caloric substance. Calories per gram: Protein/Carbs 4, alcohol 7, fat 9. Nearly double the amount of calories per gram as Protein and carbs. That means that you will burn off ALL of those alcohol calories before you start burning the others that you have eaten. In turn, you are going to be more likely to convert those other macronutrients into stored fat. 4-5 shots a night? That is going to be in the neighborhood of 4-500 calories assuming you are shooting vodka/whiskey/etc.

Long story short, if you really want to lose some weight, suck it up, stop drinking, exercise (ideally HIIT daily or at least most days) for 30 days and reassess where you are relative to what you really want.

I've learned that pretty much no matter what diet/workout regimin I'm on, if I'm consuming alcohol on a near daily basis, I will gain weight. If I'm not, I lose weight. Most people I know who don't drink at all are pretty skinny. Seems like I know very few who drink regularly but stay thin.

Her mom has bought season tickets since the Mercury began here so my wife goes to some of the games with her to be nice. She's 78 and until a couple of years ago insisted the whole "lesbian following" of the WNBA was a myth. I bought her a rainbow antenna wind sock to make sure she fit in.

Today is day 170 for me,I'm not eating the best but will work on that after vacation.Weight came off and is staying off for the most part though.

I've gone to a intermittent drinking schedule where I keep my drinking to an 8 hour window. This gives me a 12 hour time frame where there's no alcohol and allows me time to do productive things like sleep or post stuff on CP or binge watch NFLN. My IDW varies but is usually between 3-11 pm. But sometimes I'll move it around depending on how bad the wife pisses me off.
