Why haven't we sent a spaceship filled with people to possible habitable planets??

I don't understand why this isn't or hasn't been discussed or talked about among our multiple civilizations across the globe??

My answer is because there is no profit from it, but what is your guys' theories??

I would assume there are plenty of people who would be willing to go on this journey and die in space to allow their children's children to be possible "aliens" on a new planet???

I know personally, if the spaceship was something like the movie "passengers" with a lot of vacation vibe built in with drinking, along with restaurants like a cruise ship, I may very well be interested in signing myself up if future conditions permit...

So why do you guys think this hasn't become a thing??? Wouldn't we as a planet be interested in seeing what they find, or what they find along the journey if we can develop a transmission that can sustain the journey??

And don't think that isn't in the thoughts/plans. Technology is slowly getting there. We will colonize Mars but it is just taking way longer than anyone ever expected.

As far as making money, there is money to be made in space travel and colonization. We learned so much from just visiting the moon and then all of the subsequent missions (rockets and shuttles). Many technological/medical/etc. advancements were discovered due to those missions.

Dude we aren't colonizing Mars any time in the future. It will not happen in your lifetime.

Currently, we can't even send a human to Mars without him succumbing to radiation sickness before reaching the planet. Cosmic rays are real shit once you leave the safety of the Van Allen belt.

Do you realize how far the closest solar system to us is in our own galaxy let alone a different galaxy.
Closest in our galaxy is alpha centaur. 4.4 light years. Current speed of our ships would take 7k years to get there.
7000 years. Older than then human basically.

The good news. If a ship left and could make it there. It would already be settled by humans before it got there. If we somehow got lightspeed travel. It would still take 4.4 years to get there.

The milky way is 100 thosuand light years across.
Closest galaxy is 2.5 million light years away.
Observable universe is 46.5 billion lightyears

Shit is big.

More chilling to think about is that we are very, very small with extremely short lifespans.

There could be living creatures out there that move around in space that are as large to us as we are to bacteria. It/they could end our existence at any given moment just by flying through here and bumping our galaxy - and we would never know. It'd be like Titty Meat getting his annual penicillin shot to kill the VD of choice currently being and just poof. We're gone.

Talking about this makes me want to eat 'shrooms.

Probably because we haven’t even set up a habitable living environment on the moon. Probably should succeed in that before we try setting up on possible planets light years away.

Or even a camera pointing back at the earth or some kind of moon live feed.

We can barely create one on Earth without poisoning ourselves from greed and short lifespans. Maybe if we lived longer people would be less likely to be got mine, up yours? I dunno

Even travelling at the speed of light, which is physically impossible for a spacecraft, that's a 300 year trip. Generations aren't 75 years long.
