The playoff hurdles have yet to be fully cleared. That doesn't change the fact Jackson is a walking fireworks show, forever liable to change a game in a single play with his dual-threat electricity.

The reigning MVP is coming off his most efficient season while operating with a new-look receiving group. Like Lamar Jackson , another AFC superhero, he's just yet to escape the Chiefs ' shadow.

6 Patrick Mahomes

Was Mahomes' ugly Super Bowl showing an anomaly, or clear evidence his increasing dependence on last-minute heroics isn't as sustainable as it once was for Kansas City? A healthier pass-catching corps should help, but his leaky O-line still has questions. There's no denying No. 15 is still the most trustworthy signal-caller in the game, but he's now proven vulnerable twice on the big stage.

Anyone with a pair of eyes who knows the sport and has followed these QB’s will know that it’s Mahomes and Allen and the rest are a ways behind them.

Why do they hire guys like that who clearly have no business having their useless “takes” plastered anywhere?

I couldn't do Brenda Starr. However, I did read Gasoline Alley. I was too young to really appreciate the unique nature of that comic strip. It was around for decades, and the artist actually aged that characters in real time. I think that's a pretty amazing thing to do. For people a bit older than me, they would have more or less grown up alongside that comic strip.

I know people like to dunk on him and refer to him as a RB, but Lamar is up there with Allen in my book. Perhaps last season was a statistical anomaly for him and a product of Henry, but I don’t think so. Sure Henry helped, but that was still an amazing season for a QB.

At least for me, it's the fact that he has ran the ball more than any quarterback in history. That has never been a formula for success in the postseason. Cam Newton actually made it to the Superbowl. But he was destroyed by the Cheating Donks and was finished after that. He was 26. Lamar is already 28. History has proven that his legs won't continue to be the weapon that they have been for much longer. The wheels could fall off anytime, then he'll be washed. Just like Newtown was. It's not a matter of if, but when. He has improved as a passer. But I don't know that he's improved enough to be successful if he's not a threat to run at any time. Also, I just don't like quarterbacks that run constantly. I want to see the quarterback throw the ball. Leaving the rushing to the RB and occasional wife receiver on the jet sweep

If you are going to make that argument against Jackson, you have to do the same for Allen. Different running styles and Jackson’s is more sustainable than Allen as he’s shifty while Allen is a bulldozer.

While you might not be a fan of running QBs, that is the trend now and the threat of them running adds an additional dynamic to offenses that might be here to stay.

Yeah, I’m a Lamar truther. I think he’s incredible.

He had an MVP season in 2019 and another where he won despite some controversy in 2023. He’s been the man long before Henry rolled into town.

I’ll also point out that Henry had a career best in YPC playing with Lamar. They definitely complemented each other.

We played in damn near every game barely winning and then got destroyed in the SB. We all know our skill players were shit. Injuries killed us last year on offense but Mahomes gets no pass ever from the media. I am not surprised he's getting knocked.
