Which QB is better: Dak Prescott or Lamar Jackson?

Was just talking about this with coworkers.

Most agreed Dak overall was better. Both will be looking to get paid soon.

Who’s the better QB?

Yep and Brady's work ethic improved dramatically once he had his shot in the NFL. The dude transformed his body.

Lamar Jackson was already an absolutely amazing athlete before being drafted and has most definitely hit his ceiling in terms of athleticism.

All that's left for Jackson is the mental part of the game, which most QB's and coaches will say is the most difficult and most important aspect of being a successful NFL QB.

Once defenses begin defending him as the Chiefs and Titans have done, his success will depend on downfield accuracy, something he's been far less than even average to date.

Oh, fps. It was just an example. NFl history is literally replete with examples of players that should've been taken higher and weren't for a variety of reasons.

I think the Ravens started Lamar before he was ready. That's the only point I was making there.

I know where Harbaugh came from. They only talk about it before virtually every Ravens game, so even if I didn't know for some reason, I'd just have to watch one Ravens/Chiefs game to know. But I posted this same information prior to last year's Ravens game, among other things, concerning how well Harbaugh probably knows Andy.

But as I recall, several ESPN/FoxSports analysts and even former Ravens players have mentioned over the years that Harbaugh develops good relationships with his QBs, that he has always been that guy.

You are confusing John Harbaugh with Jim Harbaugh, who is most definitely known as a QB Whisperer.

Jim Harbaugh coached up Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck and so on.

Brady was a victim of being solid but unspectacular at Michigan. It seemed they always had one eye on Drew Henson for some reason.

Come on, man. This is bullshit.

Lamar is only 24. He's 21-6 for his NFL career, which includes the two playoff losses. He's a Heisman winner and NFL MVP. He just had possibly the best dual-threat season a QB's ever had in this league and also one of the most efficient passing seasons.

Peyton Manning was drafted in 1998 and didn't win his first playoff game until 2003.

Give Jackson a little more time until we consider the book on him written..

I think Jason Garrett might be the most overrated coach in football.

I don't think being under him all this time did Dak any favors.

I think his talent level ceiling could've been Russell Wilson-like.

I don't think he's there, and I doubt he ever will get there now.

Being under McCarthy isn't going to help him necessarily either. Rodgers overcame a lot of McCarthy's issues. He's a Marty disciple and it's going to rear its ugly head at inopportune times.

I think you're understating Wilson's ability.

Wilson was the last guy we'll ever see come out of college with his tool-set who gets overlooked because of his height, IMO.

He had a damn strong arm, plus mobility and exceptional accuracy. If he has Dak's build, he's a first overall pick.

Russell Wilson is an INCREDIBLE talent. No, there's not a scenario where Prescott is that guy, IMO. Could he have been better than he is? Sure, but you're putting Dak into first ballot HOF territory. Inner-circle kind of players, IMO. Russ will end up being among the top 20 QBs of all time when his career is over and there will be arguments to put him in the top 10 (good ones at that).

Prescott never had that ceiling. And besides, let's not act like Wilson toiling away under Pete Carroll did him any favors.

Again, probably the most accurate college QB I've ever seen. Elite accuracy and a plus skillset, other than his size.

Hah, you fixed it but I was about to say: Russ will likely go down as a top 10 guy. He's the modern day Steve Young.

If he can keep up this torrid pace, this season will do wonders for his career. It'll show everyone that he was able to put up gaudy stats this whole time, he just never did because he was handcuffed by Carroll and had an all-time defense for his first handful of seasons in the league.

I'm pretty sure I shit on him because his height. Liked the talent and absolutely would've taken him instead of Donald Stephenson, but that was more because of my hatred for Cassel than it was my belief that he'd be a star.

But the rise of the spread and shotgun offenses that help these shorter QBs scan the field and see their weapons even with massive people in front of them, not to mention the continued development of timing offenses where you're making a pre-snap read and throw to a spot, make height so incredibly secondary.

15 years ago I think height DID still matter. You needed to be a true magician to succeed while taking snaps from under center and looking for targets as they came open. But going forward, I gotta figure even 5'9'' can probably function.

I mean at SOME point there's a threshhold, but you watch guys like Murray and Russ scorch the earth and I'm damn sure not willing to put a hard number on it.

Back in 2012, I was a huge fan of Wilson's and thought that the Seahawks were the perfect fit for him.

Even though they'd just given Matt Flynn a huge contract, Pete publicly stated that if Wilson was better in camp, he'd be the starter and I distinctly remember people here on CP stating that Pete was full of shit.

The NFL has a bad habit of dismissing players because they didn't or don't meet "Ideal" standards. Fortunately, that's changing a bit at the QB position, as we've seen Lamar Jackson go in the first and Kyler Murray go #1 overall.

I'm not stating that either of those guys will win Super Bowls or head to the HOF someday, just that the NFL is looking at these guys a little differently, which has been great for the game.

I think the world of Wilson and was advocating that The Chiefs should draft him.

I just think Dak has top 5, elite type QB talent as well but will likely never reach that level now.

Who rated Garret as a top coach? He was nothing but a Jerry puppet. You can’t be overrated if you aren’t even rated.
