It was going pretty well until about season 5. Then they spent too much time on Beth and the dumb hospital storyline. Since then they've spent 3 seasons on the Saviors and it took way way too long.

Yep. The Saviors story line should have been one season max. It was tired and played out long ago.

ive said it in this thread, and i'll say it again: Robert Kirkman said years ago on "the talking dead" that the walking dead is about Rick Grimes. and without him, there is no walking dead.
so there you go. the "official" start of the series is nigh.

the biggest thing with me is that they are almost (kind of) caught up to the comic series. there are only so many ways that they can go at this point. sadly, this was totally inevitable.

prison season was still the best......

After re-watching seasons 1-5, it's amazing how much the quality has suffered when they over-saturated the story with too many characters.

I would take Season 2 (GASP!) over the shit that's been happening for a while now.

This is much more than a PR hit.
You may have misinterpreted my post as your response has nothing to do with what I said. My point was that #metoo is entering the territory of the ridiculous. As proven in this case as they have now kicked the guy off his AMC show and comic-con because the woman made some allegations. That’s all. No proof, no trial, no hearing his side of the story,nothing but some words out of her mouth.
