What will the Chiefs receive if they decide to trade Alex Smith this offseason?

Opinions range all over the place on this issue, and rather than clutter up threads with my staunch disagreement with some folks, I figured a poll on this issue would be the best way to figure out the overall pulse.

If you think he'd net us something that's not listed on here (like 2 2nd round picks or something like that) then do your best to estimate what that approximate value would be.

Poll forthcoming

Will be interesting to see what happens if Alex has another 4 TD/0 INT 350+ yard performance in the playoffs and this defense shits the bed losing us the game like the Indy 2014 playoff game.

Don’t care. Take the booty and send him on.

We need to rebuild too many positions. Trading him for picks helps drastically.

They'd be better off shopping Mahomes to Arizona unless the Bidwills suggest that Arians ride off into the sunset if the goal here in KC is to maximize draft pick return.

The Texans just sent a second rounder to Cleveland in a salary dump to get rid of Osweiler.

If Smith finishes as a Top 5 QB, the Chiefs will get a 1st or multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks, IF they decide to trade him.

I would still probably trade him.

I don't think this Defense is a quick fix and being minus draft compensation he could provide in a trade, along with eating his salary, will help things.

I’m all for drafting a NT or a CB in the first round

NT before late Friday would be silly because that's a lot for a low value position that wouldn't be a 3 down player.

I don't think the Chiefs need to burn a 1 for a Corner. I would shoot for an edge rusher or DJ replacement.

I am fine with Ragland, Eligwe and KPL at ILB. I'm still on the DE or cover DB train.

We've struggled massively with Eric Berry out. Imagine if we lose Marcus Peters?

Just think the Panthers drafted Keuchly one spot ahead of us in which we had to choose Poe. Talk about Keuchly on this defense

would it, though? interesting? or did you mean predictable in what happens?

and I assume you mean what happens here, as far as the mantra.

- Smith had that one play, remember? where he could have done better. Had he done that stuff real good, we'd have won. **** that dude. That's why we drafted Pat!

... so really. Interesting?

If we dump Sutton, we don't need to dump a 1 for a #2 CB. Peters is and will continue to be the 1.

Ragland, Eligwe and KPL is the most meh collection of inside backers. They need a physical stud.

DE I can see the argument with, just not sure how that would shake out with their first choice is all.
