Sewell is a really good RT and continues to get better. He'd probably be a really good LT in most places but the Lions kept Decker there and he's not garbage. Paris Johnson is a similar type. Slater (pick 13) and Darrisaw (pick 23) are two of the best LTs in the league right now. I think Skoronski and Harrison match up well as comps. I think Broderick Jones can be a good LT and not necessarily the Vera-Tucker of this draft, although that's his minimum I'd believe and Vera-Tucker is pretty good as a guard. I think Duncan is a much better prospect as a tackle than Leatherwood. He definitely needs some work from a better O-line coach but the movement ability and power are all there. Leatherwood didn't have the movement skills. You look at round 2, with Jenkins, Eichenburg, Carman, and Cosmi, there are some okay players in there but I think this year's crop is better with Freeland, Bergeron, McClendon, and Jones. Freeland and Bergeron both have a chance to upend Duncan for a 1st round slot at LT. I think Bergeron is at least a really good to great RT. McClendon is as good a RT prospect as I've seen. Jones is a mammoth RT that is just hard to get around. I see all 4 as pure tackles that don't end up pushed to guard like Jenkins and Eichenburg. |

So you've got alot of guys that could end up being developed, but as prospects, they end up going in the 2nd or whatever about where they should go. I'm saying the Chiefs may say "yeah, lets go that route" and take a guy there and develop him a bit or they may kick the can. |

It is 100% clear that Orlando should not be in the Chiefs' long-term plans at LT. It's bordering on pathetic that he got a Pro Bowl nod this year, which worries me when we start thinking about the Chiefs offering him a contract again. The trade and pay route that you've been in favor of may pay more immediate dividends but will bite you in the ass hard more often than not in the long term. I'm more in favor of this when the requirement is a day 3 pick OR the pick investment is not comparable to what it would take to just go up and get an elite player in the draft. If you could trade a 1st for Laremy Tunsil, I'd be on board. If you have to trade two 1sts and a 3rd, I'd be more inclined to go up to 10 and get the elite LT in the draft because of the long-term savings on the cap. Now, there is less of a guarantee that he's elite than what you're getting in Tunsil but that's the risk of the trade-off for cap space. What makes Paris Johnson, Jr. so attractive is his athleticism and his smarts. He lacks experience and he's subsequently lacking technique at LT. Given his athletic gifts and intelligence though, you are confident in him growing into an elite LT in a year or two. If Tennessee is the likely landing spot, then 10 is where you need to get to. I'd also have no problems going up for Skoronski. The guy is a virtual carbon copy of Rashawn Slater and just might actually be a bit better in pass pro. He's not your traditional LT but he's good. Slater hasn't had a problem. I'd move up for Anton Harrison as well. I see him as more like Eric Fisher. He's going to be an elite pass protector if he can get stronger to handle that bull rush. All of these guys scream being immediately on par with what you're getting from OBj. If you're waiting around until the end of one, I'm super high on Matt Bergeron. I mean, really high. The nice thing about him is you can plug him in on either side as he's played both extremely well. Syracuse guys don't get hype, I get it, but this guy is nails. Maybe the league will view him as a 2nd round guy, I don't know. I don't but I've been wrong before and am never scared to admit it. |

They can't get from 28 to 6 to take the top LT. I doubt they can get into the top 10 realistically without having to give up a TON and unless the guy is Tunsil type, i don't see the payoff being there. Whereas we can let it play out a bit and see what happens. Maybe a guy like Duncan falls to us at whatever pick we have. I've seen alot of stuff that thinks outside the top 2, it's alot of late first/2nd rounders. We will see how it falls as we get thru the pro days and combine and such I guess. |

In the end, I think they opt to keep their picks, spend the money and keep OBJ as much as we may not like it.

I wonder if it's more logical that they let Juju go and bring back Hardman.

I don't think you really look to bring either back at this point.
I'd like Hardman back, but that seems like a role you can find in the mid rounds of hte draft. |

I'd let JJSS walk and sign Keenan Allen to an incentive laden contract one he's cut.

Of course, Foskey and Ojuilari are nearly always there, too, as well as Andre Carter-so that's a tough call, in my opinion. If that's how reality breaks down, I like our options. It certainly helps to have a few legit first round QB's in the mix. |

His best chance to earn a big payday would be to stay here one more year and put up numbers. Missing half of this year does not help his cause in '23. Just sayin'. |

The receiver market is bare. Someone is going to overspend.
