NFL top 100 players of 2018

I just came across the list. They have done 81-100 so far, and no Chiefs yet. Donks and Faiders have one each with Harris Jr at 86 and Bruce Irvin at 85. The Packers already have 4 on the list. Noteables are JJ Watt at 84. Apparently his injuries have the voters scared because he should be much higher than that. Grappalo made the list at 90. I don't think that he's played enough to be on that list just yet. I seriously doubt that we see Mahomes on the list, and I don't think that we should. He may have a top 10 year, but after one regular season game, I just wouldn't put him in there. I think that we should see Watkins, Hill, Kelce, and Hunt on the list. I'm not sure if Berry will be there coming off of injury. If Watt only came in at 84, what will they do with Berry? Will Chris Jones make the list? Here's a link if you want to see the list.

I’ll be excited to see what this list may look like a year from now for the Chiefs.

I'm guessing they'll have five of the top ten spots. Maybe more if the defense steps up.

46 is Harrison Smith, despite the fact that everyone knows he was only responding to Case Keenum's great leadership.

45 is Davante Adams. I looked him up and apparently he's a player for the Packers.

I don't actually watch the show but I pulled this from Reddit a couple weeks ago on Houston:

Quote:
Justin Houston, despite his amazing pass rushing abilities, was not called upon to be a pure pass rusher this year like nearly all elite 3-4 outside linebackers are. Instead, he was required to be much more versatile. He rushed the passer on 76.7% of his snaps, bringing his season total to 412. In those 412 pass rushes, he pressured the QB 54 times, 11th most in the NFL. Everyone above him had a higher percentage of pass rush snaps, with all but three of them over 90%. If we use that 90% number, which is on the lower end of the averages when it comes to elite 3-4 OLBs, and apply it to Houston’s 2017 season, he’d have had 64 pressures, sliding him up to 6th in the NFL.

Now those pass rushing numbers look a little better don’t they? But wait a second. Just because he’s not pass rushing doesn’t mean he’s a good pass defender does it? Well, of those 125 times he was asked to drop into coverage, he allowed 11 receptions for 133 yards and 0 TDs. I’d say that’s pretty solid for a premier pass rusher in the NFL.

Just in case you were wondering about Houston’s run stopping ability, his 31 stops tied him for second in the league among 3-4 outside linebackers. So if anyone was thinking maybe he’s a passing down specialist, think again.

On the surface, you might look at volume pass rushing numbers to judge Houston’s season. It would be an honest mistake considering his history and what the typical 3-4 OLB is asked to do. However, if you do that, you’ll miss the entire picture. He was asked to do much more than pass rush in 2017, and he did it well. Houston’s elite versatility and performance in all three elements of a linebacker’s game (pass rushing, coverage, and run stopping) have landed him a spot at number 79 on our list.
Either he came in at #79 on NFLN's top 100 or Reddit's top 100.

44 is David Decastro, because it's been a few picks since they've fawned over the stupid holding and cheapshotting Steelers.

This group of ten really sucks. Nothing but media teams other than Darius Slay.

Must've been a Reddit list. The NFL's number 79 is ironically Marcus Peters.

43 is Mark Ingram and his pharmacist. I guess he had a good year with his PED help. His stats were almost as good as Kareem's though still a step behind.

Here he is trying to escape from a PED-sniffing police dog.

Apparently he proved a lot. He's the next Jimmy Garoppolo.

These lists make no sense at all. Give me a list of last season's best players, or this season's upcoming best players. Don't give me a bunch of undefined mud that doesn't match either criteria. Maybe I should expect to see Will Shields on the list, because if he was playing I'm sure he would be great.

This list is a joke.

Shazier will never play again.

Earl Thomas at 42. This will be the last year for Seahawks players on the list, I think.

And #41 on the list is ... Keenan Allen. I guess in fairness he had great stats this year since he finally played in the most of the games.

I'm worried about Kareem. He's clearly better than Mark Ingram, but will he get credit for it?

The NFL rushing leader? He will be top 25.
