We are driving up the price for Elway...and are baiting them yet again into pissing a pick away ala Lynch. That said, he would be elite in KCs system.

We would be the best, most complete team in the league with Tony.

A healthy Romo makes us a favorite. Alex keeps us in the playoffs with this team, but I think we are ready for more.

If a QB makes the offense dynamic, the players will love the QB no matter who it is.

A healthy locker room comes from winning.

In fact, I bet there is some underlying resentment because the team knows exactly what is holding them back.

There's a nice article on Chiefs.com about Gil Brandt and how the Cowboys were next years SB winner every year until they finally pulled it off in 71. A lot of luck and breaks have to go your way along with being good. He says ,you know, if the ref had missed the holding call on Fisher the Chiefs might be playing Sunday. And I wouldn't have called that hold.

Plus, Andy drafted Foles. He obviously sees something in him, so I trust in Andy if he deems him worthy of being the starter in '17.
So, you trust the guy who wanted Smith?

You think Romo will play all (or even most) of the regular season games and be healthy enough to play in the playoffs? Yeah right... He's 36 with a bad back. He'll be on IR by week 10 more than likely. There's a reason the Broncos (who have horrible QBs) aren't interested and we shouldn't be either.
Im not assuming shit. A healthy Romo is a no brainer. The risk is just with him staying healthy. I know it is a risk but like I said Im pinch hitting Gibson here.

Reid said/says, that Smith can lead this team to a SB, and he also said shortly after the trade was consumated that he could turn him into a HoF QB.

Right about that?

I don't think Romo's contract is prohibitive. Signing bonuses don't transfer. You're looking at 14, 19.5, and 20.5 million over 3 years with no guarantees on the books. You are basically renting the guy for one year anyhow. I don't know what Jerry will want but I said before in this thread that if you can get him for a 3rd or less then I think he's worth taking a shot with. You'll likely get a 3rd back for Alex Smith, so its an even flip. You restructure Foles as insurance and roll the dice. I'm as comfortable with Foles as I am Alex, so even if Romo goes down, I don't think you're going backwards. It comes down to draft pick compensation and that's really about it.

I never said he was irreplaceable. But it's not like you can roll any sister****er off the street and be as good as Smith. Foles definitely has the potential to wreck shit, but it's also a risk he can shit the bed and lose some games for us because there are things he doesn't do as well as Smith. Smith is serviceable. There is a big difference between serviceable and shit. Go back and watch the Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards and Scott Franchise Killer Pioli games. Those were shit. Smith is better than that. To think anyone is going to be worlds better is forgetting where we came from. There is a reason serviceable is better than crap.

I'm all about moving on. ALL about it, but to just sit here and postulate that Foles is better than Smith with no downside risk is deluded.

I haven't been conditioned. I get it. Watching Smith check down is like punching yourself in the balls for 60 minutes of play. But it can be worse. And rolling Foles out there definitely carries some risk, because he has shown that he isn't as sound on the short throws.

Remember when Palko was supposed to be this super cerebral absolute gamer? And ALL of us were excited? Goddamn it was going to be fun to actually be competitive on a Prime Time game. New does not equal better.

If Romo went to Donk and managed to stay healthy, it would be a catastrophe.
